I was digging around in the 1.8 files and updating my resource pack, when I stumbled across a forcefield.png file in the misc section of the textures! Could this mean that forcefields will be in 1.9? Could this mean that new kinds of magic will be in 1.9??? What do you think?

Well we do have Barrier blocks. I usually just put them on top of my flags though so they won't get covered in snow.
