Citric said there won't be new mods or it will be a clusterf*** (Yes, he said that uncensored!) until changes are made to the forums.
And hey, give us a break too :tongue.gif:
I dont see the problem with adding one or two mods, especially when a majority of the mods who are mods now cant even do their job.
Ive owned plenty of forums in my time, and own one now, and adding mods that actually mod benefits both the forum and the users, now, it seems that friends are adding friends to mod just to have them higher then the users and to give them a rank, even though they dont do anything.
Do I know who the mods are? No, I have no idea...you know why? Because most of them dont do anything, they dont moderate anything, they just sit back and watch chaos unfold and do absolutely nothing about it.
Nothing against the mods who actually mod, Ive seen SOME things done, but it seems a majority of the stuff that needs to be modded is left alone for a long period of time.

Though it's a cluster**** of Flaming, Spam-bots, advertising, threads in wrong sections, etc with the current team size.
Usually, if you're finding it hard to cope with your current mod team, there's something wrong. Either through poor communication, lack of personal, or lack of tools or guidelines.
Right now, there is one mod on, (who of course is Cliff Racer), and in a forum this size, is totally unacceptable. The usual causes: Mod who quit or don't care, or mods in similar timezones. It's a little of both here. And it's why there are so many issues as there is.
I support this idea...
However. Perhaps before we go and add too much more content, we DO need more moderators. GMs would be nice, but the admins ought to see who is most active and most trustworthy in each forum section (preferably with a reasonably high post count) and make them a section mod. If we see that a few trustworthy members are regularly active in many sections of the forum, then they could be made a GM. I have seen many members deserving of mod status, and have almost never seen a mod even go near any spam threads or warn users, or even respond to reports in any way, for at least 24 hours (sometimes twice that) after it's been posted. It's ridiculous, honestly. There are plenty of active, trustworthy and willing members who could be valuable moderators given the chance.
This forum probably has the lowest amount of active moderators (and admins) that I've ever seen. This should be first on the agenda, BEFORE adding new features.
That said, you have my full support for this idea.
The Ancient's world had long since been stripped of minerals and miners had to travel across the galaxy to find possible sites to mine in. I Craft began as Myne, a proof-of-concept Python server written by Andrew Godwin. Myne was revolutionary at the time, being the first server with multi world and the only server ever that was designed to make copies of other servers' maps and archive them. Andrew founded a server called The Archives to this end. Shaava Bint Faroud and her survey team found many possible mining sites during their first survey run of Pern. They pried many enormous gemstones or precious metals from the soils of Pern, including the Shaava Ruby (passed on to Avril Bitra) and the Liu nugget, an enormous nugget of gold pried from a river on the northern continent, probably near Lemos or Igen. These precious findings were not enough to interest a mining consortium but enough that they tempted Avril Bitra, Shaava's heiress, to treachery.
- You guys don't overwork yourselves and lose interest
- Mod quality doesn't reduce due to alternate focus.
- It isn't just a re-hash of notch.tumblr.com
- Has news about high quality/upcoming/interesting mods
- Has some news/gossip from Notch's Twitter (since, really, who actually visits twitter other than to post narcassistic crap?)
Essentially, as long as it's not going to become a drain on the forums, and has news that is more about the community releases and large MC releases it'll be useful.
There is subforum for creative writing for minecraft authors you know...

I would like to see a few topics updated each day, like...
CURRENT TRENDING SUGGESTION: Aether - Click here for review...
CURRENT TRENDING TEXTURE PACK: Painterly - Click here for review...
CURRENT TRENDING MOD: Ice Mod - Click here for review...
Theyll make the section, and post news everyday for about a week, then theyll run out of content to post then itll end up a dead section on the site, with a post maybe once every week or two.
Sorry, but with the way this site is ran, Im not exactly optimistic about this thing actually being successful.

That summer when we had a seekrit update every week, sometimes it was a bit of work to dig trough the threads to find everything new that was added.
