Didn't Notch say in the video http://au.ign.com/videos/2011/08/27/pax-minecraft-new-updates-commentary at 07:45 "The 1.8 update is probably going to be split into 2 parts, because it's getting too large, so we're going to release the first part very soon like within a couple of weeks, then we'll finish up the rest and release it as 1.9"? And one more thing, when you are charging your arrow, the camera begins to zoom in slowly on your cross-hair, as seen in the video above as well.
I didn't notice the slight zoom when you charge arrows before, but watching again after you mention it I definitely see it. The part about splitting the update was also there, I remember that from my first watch through.
Also the jumping to crit was specifically stated around the 3 minute mark, and was demoed in the kotaku video as well.
Thanks for the thread, it was annoying seeing all the fake "ZOMG ME PHINK DAT IT IZ SUNDAI ME HAZ NO PROOF ME ARE GUESSING BUT ME SAY IT IS CONFRIMD LOLOL"
SabbyKat, Endermen can't one-hit you. They only deal two and a half hearts damage.
Another thing, about rotten flesh...
If you eat it, your hunger bar turns green and depletes itself more rapidly.
This probably isn't what you're supposed to do with it, but it should still be noted.
EDIT: If you compare textures, that mystery block is bedrock.
But why is lapis lazuli to the RIGHT of it? Has lapis been shunned?
I don't know what happened with the image there, I can barely read your text, but the only things I would point out are the seeds are probably switched as there are black flecks in the melon which I imagine are supposed to be the seeds.
Also the one that I believe says 'wtf is this' is the rotten meat. I was confused at first on that as well, then I noticed it dropping from zombies later in the vid.

As I said, rumor, not fact. I had no idea of confirmed damage/abilities. I'll modify it now, since I know you're reliable. :tongue.gif:
Hm, interesting. Makes sense, I mean... you're eating a ****'ing corpse, dude! A rotting one at that! Geez x.x;

Yes, can you figure out why? What did you do the first time? x.x

I just kinda stitched together the three screens in paint then uploaded it to imgur. I would think you had just saved the image in it's unenlarged form but then your text would be the proper size, so I don't really know. o-o
(It could possibly have to do with an option when uploading it? Max size for example)
Actually, I'de like to say in one of the Interviews I saw Notch said that 1.7 worlds will STILL USE 1.7 terrain generation, it will contain the new mob's and pumpkin farming and that kind of stuff, but you will not get strongholes, ravines, and new dungeons, along with bigger biomes. To get the new 1.8 generation you must create a new world.
There is something missing about creative mode IMO.
The possibility to modify lands quickly, more efficient than just mining and placing blocks one by one.
This mode should be more complex than just removing health and add all items in the inventory.
And The PNJ villages... it's quite useless there.

EDIT:Looking for the video now.
It's been changed. Read his twitter-spam. :tongue.gif:
It's not around 3 minutes, just watch the whole thing :3
Busy fixing the images.
Can someone clarify that 1.8 will NOT load land for for 1.7 worlds, even in new chunks? thanks! ( trust you holy, but best to get other reliable opinions of a source)

I rewatched the video there (though I did skip around a tiny bit but no more than 5-10 seconds at a time) and I didn't find any mention of that topic at all. I also remember hearing in other videos that you'll just be required to create new chunks.
A specific time in the video would be great as I don't feel like listening to the whole thing again atm.
Also the iron bar things showed up in the old stronghold screenshot:
I think the coloring is due to the new lighting with the torch, not sure though. (It's either that or something like biome rock colors which I've heard nothing about) The image just confuses me even more on what they might be though.
They don't hurt you, they just prevent movement. The game refers to them as "iron bars".
SabbyKat, is there any silverfish footage yet?
None that I've seen. Bar a blurry clip of something blurry, Notch dying, and that's it... nothing can be made out, except someone shouting 'silverfish!' and that's it. Heard nothing more, sadly.
Your first photo was fine, but look at this one, it's like 1/10th the bloody size! >.<

You asked what is that meat next to the cooked chicken. Its the new rooten flesh that zombies drop. Its use in unknown

Doesn't look very... zombie like. I'd expect greenish and puss-spewing like, not... like beef jerky lol =p

Interesting. Wonder wtf they are... spikes maybe?

So they are likely iron-fences.
