Say you found dungeons and raided them for bread (when there is bread) and died the rest. The same exact thing will is still there its not like having a low food bar effects your screen in anyway that gimps you. Only thing it does is limit Sprint which you were not using anyways and would be unbalanced if it didn't
again not the point. Please stop trying to start fights.
I think he was just pointing out that your entire post is pretty pointless because you're just complaining about having to do something that you already do anyway.
your not really getting the point, which is i farm wood because i want it for tools. food is not what i need, but now it is, and my point was that i think its stupid.
Then farm for food because you want it for life. Or don't, and just keep on playing with half your life, which won't matter since 1) you rarely ever get damage apparently and 2) you couldn't sprint before the food update, so you clearly don't *need* to sprint now.
Whether you plan a sapling, place a mushroom, till some dirt, create a big pitch black room, or fence in some chickens, it's farming. Because you are actively promoting the growth/spread/spawning of a desirable element. Be it wheat, slimes, sheep, trees, whatever. It's farming.
The argument that you are a "dwarf" is just ridiculous. Even in roleplaying games, dwarves must eat, and consume resources that are not collected underground. If you hate farming so much, and you play on SMP, then just arrange to trade with surface dwellers, I'm just they'll be happy to give you stackfulls of bread for your ore. Think of it this way: that's what "real dwarves" would do in RPGs.

Whats your take on going to the nether? Zombie pigmen are edible.
And food is just another resource to manage. Wood is a resource that you need and consume. Stone is a (albeit easy to get) resource, with alterntives. Coal is a resource. All of these are things that you need to collect and utilize to be successful. There may be options; you could use lava lighting to alleviate a need for coal, you could ue diamodns instead of iron or stone for your picks, etc. Food has options too, from farming, to scavanging, to fishing (golum lived underground for a long time feeding mainly on fish. Not really a dwarf, but he is a long-term subterrainian resident), to mushrooms, to ranching, to raiding hell, to waiting for 1.9 and taking a few pigs into your mines with you(probably, depending on how breeding works). It is a resource, and drawing a distinction between hunger and wood is somewhat arbitrary.

1.it doesn't change anything
2.the point was that i didn't get any food from it.
3.dwarves do not give or trade their ores.

No, we're talking about hunger here. If a creator of the game wants to expand the idea that is about Survival by adding Hunger, then I don't see no reason to complain.
If you are not complaining about eating everyday to survive in real life, do you really think it's necessary to complain over it in a game that's about survival?
I don't think we need any more arguing or to prove anyone to be wrong or to make them take back a post. I don't think he's really after fully getting rid of hunger and would be happy with a mod, and now he knows he CAN play the way he wants to(he doesn't want to farm anything other than trees whether you consider it farming or not, he doesn't want more) and even with the hunger bar, this is doable! Just limit sprinting, hunt a lot of zombies, grab mushrooms when you see them, grab stuff out of chests, and fish if in a true emergency! Whether he chooses to get a future mod or not is up to him I think.
There is enough to argue about on this forum, I say let it go to rest! I consider harvesting trees farming as well, but I can understand not wanting more farms(My boyfriend HATES the 'tedious' wheat farms with a passion, I enjoy the work)
It's just something he's not interested in doing. And he doesn't have to, as there are ways to survive without it. And of course, in the future there will be mods!
1. Your right the food bar DOENS'T change anything
2. Your still consuming resources no matter what it is word there is consuming
3. No dwarves do not trade their ores they trade their crafted tools, weapons, and armor.
@purple
Sure fooled a thread named Hunger Bar Petition doesn't scream I LOVE BUT I WANT TO CHANGE IT!!

Seems like you're making up your own definition of a dwarf then. If that's the case then I want to be an elf and elves do not dig! But I need coal to light up my tree house so Notch should just remove night all-together to appease me because I don't want to mine coal.
You should buy a game, similiar to Minecraft, in which you are a dwarf, which not have to eat and mine all the day and night... Minecraft is a game about a guy who try to survive... or who is very creative...
If only there was a game that had Dwarf in its name, that that is similar or possibly is the thing Minecraft actually inspired from.. if only such a game existed you could make a huge Dwarven like fortress
1. Then why do you care? You can continue to play without food. It won't kill you on easy.
2. So you refuse to eat? Great, see point 1.
3. You can't be this stupid. You are clearly trolling.
1.thats not what i said, i said that if i dont die allot it doesn't change that the hunger bar in my opinion should be gone.
2. no i dont refuse to eat, i refuse to change my entire strategy of what i love to play about it. i also refuse to start a fight with you because you wanna change my opinion.
3.they don't, what do you think they mine them just to give'em to someone else?

1. The only thing you are "punished" by not eating is not being able to sprint which if you do not sprint in the first place would not deplete fast.
2. How is it changing your entire strategy when your already farming/harvesting/consuming resources.
3. Again they craft dwarves are known for their expertise of crafting things trade with the land dwellers on top who have food for a tools or armor or weapons.
Your definition of "dwarf" however is not of any in any game/book/lore as of yet

1. i never said im being "punished" wtf are you talking bout?
2.My entire strategy is to stay underground, and im "farming/harvesting/consuming" just a tree, i;d like to keep that way.
3.again, your not getting the point, just trying to ramble on about how you think a dwarf lives.
Honestly, i just started a simple, peaceful topic asking if you liked the hunger bar or not, and if not state why. Stop trying to change opinions, and stop trying to start fights.
Be brave. Tunnel deep into the depths of the earth and fashion a portal into the depths of hell(Nether) using arcane dark arts (Mine obsidian or cast lava and water.) and fire. Since you are a mighty dwarf, the denizens (Zombie Pigmen) of the Underworld will pose no threat to your fighting prowess, and you may feast on the flesh of your enemies (cooked pork drops).
1. If the food bar is not effecting you then why are oyu against it?
2. Your entire strategy is farming/harvesting/consuming EVERYTHING form coal to diamonds to stone to zombies. Mushrooms that grow rapidly with a re-usuable bowl is not going to change your "strategy" one bit or you can just die from starvation and no need for food at all which again seems what you do already when your low on health.
3. I go by Tolkien's definition of dwarf so ya I don't THINK that's how if they ever existed live I understand because he has a made bible pretty much about them to the point that they could very well have existed.
I am trying to start fight but I am trying to figure out in what way the food bar has an effect upon you that eating for health in 1.7.3 did not.
again not the point. Please stop trying to start fights.

Not technically farming?
DWARF HERESY! THROW THE SURFACE LOVER INTO THE NEAREST LAVA PIT!
