I never really played around with sticky pistons to notice anything strange before 1.8, but it seems now, sticky pistons won't remain stuck if you have 3 of more things (2 sticky pistons and a block or 3 sticky pistons). Go ahead and try it out yourself. Lay out 3 sticky pistons flat on the ground connected to one another. Power the first, then the second, then the last. That works, no problems yet. Now reverse what you just did. Remove power from the last one you powered, then the second, then the first. You'll see the middle piston let go of the one on the end as it's pulled away by the rear one.
I don't remember this really happening before 1.8, though like I said, I never played around with pistons much, let alone multiples connected to one another.
Makes it tough to make a sticky piston elevator :tongue.gif:

They have always behaved that way. Once the piston is "off" it doesn't "stick" anymore. You have to send another pulse to open/close the middle piston so it will pull the one on the end back.
Interesting. I was wondering if chaining sticky pistons worked. Is there a limit of how many you can have? Sounds like they should expand and retract correctly, so long as you power/de-power them in the right order.
I was contemplating trying to make an elevator. Nevermind the fact that in over 500+ hours of playing Minecraft I've never once seen a slime...
It never worked with the official pistons, only with the mod. You have to do a lot more complicated stuff with the official ones than just retracting them in reverse order.

Mostly moved on. May check back a few times a year.

They even copied the mod and still didn't get it right.
But this is the correct answer. It worked in the mod, doesn't work in official. I wonder if someone could mod the sticky pistons in official so they work properly.

The mod became a "patch" after the official ones were implemented.
Mojang still needs to fix it officially, as it is a bug.

If you want slime just dig out a big area at (Y:12.62) and periodically go down there and you'll get slimes.

No new bugs I could see.
Thanks to Coe, Avidya, Guude and Mhykol for their LP's convincing me to try this awesome game!
