YO dudes wazzup.
I was just thinking about things that got removed or improved in 1.8 which i don't really like.
1.Fog key( Now it's f3+f, why notch?)
2.Damned Endermen( **** me pants)
3.Cave Spiders ( Seriously? 1x1?)
4.Oceans( I freaking spawned on an island with no trees in an ocean)
5.EXP ( Use: None. Minecraft=RPG No way!)
I miss jungle biomes and snow. I also miss the somewhat difficult time finding ores. Now it is way too easy. (for reference it took me around 2-3 days to find diamond and almost a month to collect around 400 iron. This was through 1.3 to 1.7. In 1.8 I found 10 diamonds and 100 iron in 30-60 minutes.)

I could be COMPLETELY wrong, but to me the fact that they have made ever current resource in game 10x more common is just a hint at what may come in the future. (New resources, if I wasn't clear enough before).
Once again that's just a complete out there guess, and slight hope.

1. I can agree with this, although it never really affected me.
2. They're not bad.
3. Cave spiders suck, but not too bad if you take out any nearby spawners.
4. Log out > Delete world > New map > Solved.
5. You missed the part where it'll have a use in 1.9.

Life is not measured in the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
If you don't want minecraft to be a sandbox rpg, then just go play creative mode. Complaining about all of the new mobs that actually add some sort of a challenge to the game just shows that survival mode isn't your thing.
Oceans might be a tad too big at the moment, but the game is still in beta... so you really shouldn't be expecting finalized game quality here.
Yes, 1.7 terrain generation. Notch says he changed it to make life easier and make things more exciting for the future. Hopefully that means it will be more interesting in the future.

What do you think? :dry.gif:
1 - never realy used it
2 - just kill them you can kill them before they can do anything one walk up next to em with a diamond sword turn and swing twice and it dies before it reacts, 2 get a bow aim above it head fire twice dead, 3 walk next to it witha bucket of water drop it on its feet. any many more ways to kill it ebfore it reacts to attack you, its currently the easiest mob to kill, there lots of ways aswell to stop it picking up blocks if you use half block or stairsit cant pick them up
3 - maa just dig through the wall up next to it and kill there spawner, i am yet to see spawner respawn so they stop spawning for good.
4 - If you dont wanna spawn in an island delete the world and remake it, whats that like 5 seconds of work to make a new world if you dont like the island life, alot of people like the islands and having large bodies of water.
5 - No use currently but its nice to know what lvl you got to in survival mode till something killed you, although i wish it would show you what lvl you are currently bar just resets when it hits the end so i need to keep track of that mytself.

1) On the one hand, no more accidentally changing fog distance while I'm recording. On the other, I have to hold THREE buttons (Fn+F3+F) to change fog distance??? sp614x, please fix that in OptiFine_1.8.
2) Endermen... well, I've only encountered one in 1.8_pre1 (had to downgrade to 1.7.3 until OptiFine updates), and it was kind of derped. But from what I've seen in a few LPs (GameChap and X especially), Endermen are no more dangerous than Skeletons: trickier to beat than a Zombie, but manageable once you know how.
3) Cave Spiders are definitely creepy, but fortunately are limited in spawn area, and you'll KNOW when you're in their territory.
4) I'm okay with the huge Oceans. Sure, they'll be a bear to sail across (prolly about half a Minecraft Day on average), but the underwater builders are definitely rejoicing. No more piddly little microlakes for massive glass cities!
5) Again, XP seems pointless right now, but just wait until 1.9, I'm sure there'll be some decent use for it. If not, the modders will step in and give us more. Heck, they might do it for 1.8.

Do I miss 1.7.3? Not really. I've had a blast with the new world generation, although I haven't gone too far from my spawn because I'm waiting for snow. I ended up spawning near mountains and a forest.
Personally, I'm looking forward to making impressive mountain kingdoms, dungeons with iron bars, glass pane walls, structures made with stone bricks, ect.

Yes I agree. But don't you think Minecraft should
n't be an RPG? Its so... Sandboxy. And i like that everything in Minecraft is unrealistic. And BTW i don't like Hunger. Such a slow regen rate. When playing Super Hostile Maps i keep getting owned by those **** huge Dungeons because of the regen. Either Notch changes it so that the regen rate is 1 heart per second or completely removes the Hunger bar

Minecraft is not an RPG just because there is XP. That is like saying Harry Potter is like Twilight because there are vampires in both.
And i like that everything in Minecraft is unrealistic.
Trust me, Minecraft has plenty of unrealism to go around. And if you are implying the Hunger system is realistic, or is meant to be a step towards realism, it isn't.

So you are having trouble with a 3rd party map that is meant to be a challenge? Someone get Notch on the phone, Minecraft is now ruined.
I want my 1.7.3 FPS back but that's about it. I like all the things that have been added to the game. *Crosses fingers for patch or pre-release tomorrow*

Once again that's just a complete out there guess, and slight hope.
That, combined with abandoned mines, fortresses, the bulk of passive mobs being found when new chunks are created, the eventual change of torches/lanterns... actually all point to a gameplay style that has the character moving around and adventuring, rather than building in one area and performing heavy mining.
More resources means an increased likelihood of seeing them on the surface, in the abandoned mines, in ravines, etc. It just means you don't have to strategically dig through stone to find a basic supply of ores anymore.

Not at all. I never updated, and neither have several servers :biggrin.gif:
416 stone
296 stone slab (150 blocks)
149 stone stairs (228 blocks)
794 total stone
1082 blackstone
174 blackstone slab (87 blocks)
52 blackstone stairs (78 blocks)
1247 total blackstone
(not counting drawbridges and portcullises)

I like the idea of endermen, except for the fact that they move things, destroy the land, and kill your house. But that's already getting removed.
Cave spiders tick me off, but luckily they only exist in the abandoned mineshafts.
I love the idea of big oceans. In fact, I've been waiting for 1.8 so I could get an excellent world with an island and ocean.

I love my Ocean biome... besides the fact no $#*!ing passive mobs will spawn in it.
