I'm not. I can see how you might think that, because I feel like I'm being trolled too, but I'm honestly not. I can take screenshot requests if I have to. That's my current SSP world.

Nope. Mine is fine too. I get 400FPS now on full settings (playing SMP that is hosted on another computer in my apartment).
Nope your not the only one.. I may not get 100+ fps (30 is fine for me) i can now play with alll the special settings on.
But what is so special about having 300+ FPS??
My friend whom I play with over LAN gets between 30-40 FPS as well, but now that 1.8 is out she can play on far render distance (she was on normal before) She also has started playing with a 32x texture pack with no diminished performance.
That's actually another thing I noticed myself, that I had no FPS difference between 16x and 32x packs.
Actually I've got the same thing. I occassionally have small lag spikes but I'm also usually recording so that could just be FRAPs making a new file at that point. Even while recording in 1080p quality with the fancy graphics in MC, I still get 60+ FPS most of the time.
The OP is not kidding. Right now, I'm getting a a steady 70+ fps, dropping to 30fps in lag spikes. Compare that to 30-40 fps, and 10 fps during lag spikes in v 1.7.3.
I'm guessing results vary wildly from computer to computer; there's possibly more to this than just having a fast, powerful system.
Mine is better too tbh. I think with the changes in the lighting and the blovks not having to all update like they did before it's improved the framerat a lot.
I think there is an improvement. I still have to do the sleep-wake trick on my computer once for every reboot, but that's probably just weirdness specific to my system now (been needing to do it since about 1.6.x). It's an old-ish MacBook Pro 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo.
The cool thing is this is vanilla minecraft now - without an updated OptiFine. I wonder how much improvement can be obtained when OptiFine updates. The sun set/rise is very cool now and super smooth but the distant block texture artifacts are back (moire, etc.). I've forgotten how bad/weird it can look without OptiFine filtering. :smile.gif:

I've never tried Optifine in the past, since when I first heard about it it was just to optimize some aspects of the game for lower-end computers or something like that (I paid no attention since mine has always run fine), but now I can't wait to try it when it gets updated. I might be able to use some of the even more HD textures at this rate.
Nah, me too...I'm getting much better avg FPS since 1.8 I'd say an average of 150 FPS :cool.gif:
Overall, I think 1.8 is a great update, I'm slightly reserved about the passive mobs spawning mechanics, but I will wait 'till it's completed in 1.9 before passing judgement.
Yeah I'm getting annoyed with the animal spawning. They shouldn't have touched it at all until the farming mechanics were complete, in my opinion. Maybe tweaked it to accommodate the new biomes, but now it seems like every animal is an endangered species =/
Last world, I made a zombie farm xD I was digging a basement for my house and poked right into a Zombie spawner. Too bad the meat is pretty much useless =/
Yes, it's been smooth sailing for me too. With a 128x texture pack and max fps I'm getting 140~ fps, when I go down to a 64x or 32x or 16x texture pack, it just goes up from there.
I'm thinking there must be something in common with the computers of the people that are having a tough time with 1.8.1, but I'm clueless as to what it could be.
I had a slight increase but ive noticed an occassional spike. it happens maybe every 7 to 8 seconds and will last maybe half a second where it freezes completely, but i can live with it.
went from about 2-15 with massive lag spikes every few seconds to 60 consistently, very rarely dropping to as low as 56, but usually steady, best update ever for me x]
This is on my laptop, desktop hasn't downloaded it yet. lol

- And this is with all settings maxed, that 15 was with everything as low as it'd go and still inconsistent.
The game runs smooth for me for a few minutes, then I start to get visual artifacts and/or crash. Something as simple as TAKING A SCREENSHOT will crash my game with an out of memory error.

Here are the settings at which I play Minecraft:
And here's the framerate I get with a 32x texture pack:
My FPS is still 80+ when I'm hosting a server off this same PC, with my friend playing over LAN.
People are complaining of epic lag, and I'm just not getting any. Anyone else sailing as smooth as I am?

Yeah, it's especially good when playing on a server over LAN. Glad I'm not alone here -.-'
