Why was 1.8 Released it has a whole bunch of bugs the Endermens heads are floating the chests turn black still shadowing is horrible and lighting isnt great either.

Because Mojang thought it would shut up some of the entitled pricks whining constantly about getting updates. People need to wake up and realize that this game is a BETA. And that as beta testers it is our job to find these bugs and report them. Feel free to whine about buggy releases after the official release in November.

All the major game bugs found over the weekend seem to be fixed and most of the minor ones. Sure there is a few bugs left but I haven't seen anyone find any major ones yet (Not to say there isn't any potential ones).

I am sure we will see 1.8.1 in a few days with some more bug fixes just like every other release they have done.

It is perfectly playable in both SMP and SSP.

Oh, so you can actually do something? Perhaps you should be thankful something can happen.
I can't even get past the world load screen, so I don't see why you're complaining about the Endermen's heads or lighting. :/
