- Biomes are MUCH larger and uniform than before
Love the new biomes. It is absolutely amazing being able to stand in a gigantic desert look into the distance and see more natural mountain ranges, forests, and Oceans in the distance. As well as each biome being distinct.
-Swamp biome
As of right now I don't like swamps but of course this is only a temporary state for them. what I would like to see for swamps is dirtier water that is also shallow enough in most areas to not slow your movement. Mangrove trees, Cypress trees and stumps also, not oak with vines><. maybe even alligators one day lol.
- Vines
Could use some work. Not quite sure what they need they seem to flat when hanging? they aslo suffer from not being able to place on both walls of a concave corner similar to paintings, It's either one wall or the other.
- New Foods
Great! about time pigs aren't the only animal you can maniacally kill and eat :smile.gif:. Watermelon is nice as well.
- Strongholds
I still have yet to find one. From what I've seen it holds promise. However I don't like that only one spawns per world. In a game like terraria thats fine but in Minecraft the world is (for the most part)infinite :/. Obviously should be rare but not that rare. Also as far as I'm aware theres no easy way to stumble upon one. maybe have one stairwell that connects to the surface if they don't already have that?
- Ruins
Still haven't found any, I looked for a very long time. I ended up making a creative world and flying around trying to scout for one with no luck. But from the screenshots they look nice. I REALLY like the stone bricks.
- Silverfish
Haven't come across one but I have seen how the work. I like them, they take away from the monotony of digging slightly by poping out of a block whilst digging :smile.gif:.
- Creative mode
About Damn Time!
- Abandoned mine shafts
I have a few problems with these. My main problem is that they spawn EVERYWHERE (take a look in a map editor its ridiculous lol). The only other problem I have is that when they cross through caves or even on themselves you'll often find floating wooden supports. I'm hoping thats just a pre-release thing though. But I do like them besides those quirks.
- Npc villages
Nice but they need better coding I feel. Often times I find I have to dig the gravel path to get inside some buildings. Hoping it's just a pre-release thing. Other then that they add a nice touch, and if I want I can turn them off.
- Endermen
I like enderman and I don't. There mechanics are great but there pretty easy to deal with. I also don't care for the texture, I feel they should be purely black. The spottiness is kinda bleh.
- Bow charging
also about damn time. PvE and PvP were a joke if you had a bow, before it was just how fast could you click. I also like that you walk when your bowstring is extended, really adds a requirement for thought into bow use.
- Sprinting
pretty awesome. I don't like how it changes Your Field of view slightly to give you the impression your running faster then you really are though :/. Alot of First person shooters do this and I just can't stand it.
- Chest animation
Unnecessary but cool nonetheless.
- Player list on SMP
Once again about time :smile.gif:.
- Hunger
I really like hunger. PvP is no longer who has the most food, and PvE is no longer rush it and eat when you need to. However A direct heal is something nice to have if you get caught in a bind. To me it seems like golden apples should still heal your full bar. There expensive enough to justify it and its nice to have an oh **** card to pull out.
- Xp bar
Looking forward for whats to come. It could be amazing or it could be absolutely hideous.
- New lighting engine
Love it. Adds a ton of atmosphere and distinction to the visual side of things.
- Clouds are now at the ceiling of the world
Yet again about time. I couldn't stand clouds passing through me or my building when I was up high.
- Cave spiders
I like that they can fit into 1 wide holes. Poison seems to bring you to half a heart but not kill you so that's good. What I don't like is as far as I know they only spawn from spawners not naturally. That kinda sucks
- Zombies drop rotten flesh
So happy they don't drop feathers anymore lol.
- Glass panes and Iron bars
I love the aesthetics these bring.
- Brick stairs and half steps
at the risk of sounding redundant, about time ><.
- FoV slider
Woot!
- Brightness slider
I prefer to keep it on the default 'moody' but still nice to have.
I see alot of people complaining about things like seeds and massive amount of bugs.
Well it was a given that seeds would come and go as the game progressed in development, yeah it sucks but it was bound to happen, and will probably happen a few more times. and as far as the bugs go, it is a pre-release, one, and secondly it's a pre-release of a game in beta testing so suck it up. You knew there would be bugs when you bought the game :smile.gif:.
Theres a few things I missed but all in all this patch is pretty great.
Yeah I definitely agree. In there current state I find myself avoiding exploration of them due to how common they are. Not only that but when exploring them it often loops on itself and goes on for seemingly ever. Right now it seems like a bunch of idiots decided to start mining but they didn't think to set up a proper mine layout. But yet there smart enough for supports so it doesn't cave-in ><.
I've also noticed skeletons no longer strafe and shoot at you now. Rather they stand still and try to predict were your going to move. in order to dodge skeletons before you simply strafed. Now it seems you have to time when there about to shoot and quickly switch directions. I'm not sure if I like this or not. I didn't like how skeletons were before but now it seems a little to challenging to avoid there arrows ( maybe I just need more practice I dodge them about 50% of the time).
Most recently though I've just been charging them down and killing them as fast as possible. I take guaranteed damage like that but the dodging of arrows isn't worth the effort for me ><, and more often then not I take more damage trying to dodge and make my way close then just rushing it. I'm not a fan of rushing combat, I enjoy Thought to concur but it feels like its making me rush :sad.gif:.

By the looks of my worlds I've seen so far, civilizations of a million people have already mined my entire world...
I think they should be just like Ruins, rare to come across. With how they are now, almost any underground exploration will lead you into a shaft.
I've also noticed skeletons no longer strafe and shoot at you now. Rather they stand still and try to predict were your going to move. in order to dodge skeletons before you simply strafed.
