I want to play 1.8 now!!! The suspense is killing me! :blink.gif:
lol i read this as "the sunrise is killing me!" and i looked at your avatar and it was a creeper and i was like NO creepers dont die in the sunlight :tongue.gif:
who here would hate if an enderman/farlander was to take a TNT and place on your house of diamonds, and then place a redstone torch next to that TNT? (idk if they can place blocks so yea)
It is not a giant mushroom in those pictures, they are trees. Better yet, they are something Jeb/Notch made out of wool and dirt and some sparkly block/lava.
Why do people think it is a mushroom?
because its default texture and if you loo at the mushrooms the stalks have a wierd yexture. and they are rooms made of mush. =P

There will be nothing in this section until 1.8 comes out.
If you actually happen to have any information on 1.8, or things I've forgotten, please post or PM me. I'll be updating this thread even after 1.8 comes out.

The well is a nice "visual idea", but attaching some gameplay aspect to it seems quite unlikely to me.
"using a rope in order to get water in the well"
> why bother ? You can already make an infinite water source accessible directly at your feet with a simple bucket.
Of course, we could imagine mojang implementing finite water into their games. But as far as I understood it, there's little chance for this to happen.
Other way to see the problem : setting an infinite water source inside the village could get you bad reputation with the villagers, encouraging you to use the well and its specific mechanic...
... but you could always get out of the village in order to get easier water than from the well. Unless villages are VERY big. But I doubt they will be that big.
but maybe we arent allowed to build in the npc villages without being allies. or your right maybe water would be finite.
the reason should be one of them, because notch/jeb would not do something that has no use in the game and just takes space!
The main idea is the rope. It would be useful when you have to climb down caves/ruins or when you need to pick up lava from the bottom of a cave. Of course there should be a limit to make this feature balanced.
This is just my opinion and I would be happy to see this feature, altough it's fine if they won't add this.
Virisenox, please don't quote the OP.
i hope they add ropes, it would have great use!
and like the recipe would be like this:
= 2 ropes
= string
and then put the rope near a brown wool so it would look brown like normal ropes, or u can keep it white.
To apologize, I looked at your dragon egg thingy. I hope my view helps your virtual, pixellated, 2-D, dragon-egg picture blossom into the best virtual, pixellated, 2-D dragon picture you could ever imagine!
I have to disagree. Adding little things like wells is a great way to bring some life to the village. In my opinion, there can be over 10 useless things in the NPC villages.
Finite water sounds like a bad idea at this point of the game. Everyone would panic if the water mechanics would suddenly change. Besides, the current water mechanics are good and messing around with the current water brings up lots of possiblities.
I agree with the notion that pure aesthetic features of the villages have value. 90% of player creations are aethetics.
However, the water mechanics are not that great. They have some nice features, but there is one aspect they really fail at, and it's a pretty basic one: creating pools. Creating a 1 meter deep pool is easy, but if it is any deeper, it gets really weird, is prone to eddies and currents, and is generally a pain to work with. Something as simple as filling a fish tank becomes an ordeal. a simple moat takes a lot of effot to make look nice. Notch said he wanted to change it when he initially created it, but I'm not sure if that is still the case, I think he said he doesn't want to deal with it anymore.

They made villages an actually biome, instead of a random generation.. Or, that's what I got from it.
because its default texture and if you loo at the mushrooms the stalks have a wierd yexture. and they are rooms made of mush. =P
and i was RIGHT!
It will be! Can't wait!
this all sounds excellent.

i hope this gets implemented!
What a jerk! lol.

no ass! just wait and discuss the features here, DUH! think...
That doesn't mean the villager's will always agree with it if they are unfreindly.
I can`t wait
Maybe a level up system?
