Notch added hunger, and look at it, Silly addition. I hope Jeb removes it and never adds thirst.
It's survival mode. You typically need to eat to survive, it's not silly at all. And if I recall, the hunger bar exists in the first place because Jeb made food stackable.
On hardcore mode I would like it, but otherwise it really gets in the way to have too many meters. The hunger should stay on SURVIVAL though.On second thought thirst is pretty pointless, its not a challenge to get water.
Thirst would literally be pointless. There is water EVERYWHERE in Minecraft, and if you are in an area with scarce water, have two water sources ready and you have infinite water source blocks.

In my opinion, what i think should happen, is that hunger is removed from survival, put into Hardcore, along with things like thirst, pressure, temperature, and all kinds of hardcore stuff. Thats me.
Thirst would add nothing to the game that hunger already does. Adding it would be redundant. The Sims games don't even have thirst.
The reason 'hunger' added to the game was because it solved issues while being a benefit when taken care of.
It solved the issue of 'instant health' and also benefits you with health regen.
There are some possiblities for a hydration bar benefit, maybe slightly faster movement? Slightly higher regen?
All in all, I want it so there are reasons to make chocolate milk and things. It could even work at the beginning of the game, with the ideas of a leather flask or a water bottle you smelt to get fresh water.
I already hate the hunger meter. I didn't have a problem with it until I got my new computer and could do things like actually fight mobs. Now its like every 30 seconds I have to stop and replenish it or continue to fight mobs and die because my health won't come back.
If thirst or any other stupid stuff gets added them I'm done with Minecraft.

I see alot of haters if he adds thirst :tongue.gif:. Many already don't like the hunger. But i would love to have it, more of a challenge.
Nice Joke. Hunger IS NOT a chakllenge with ALL the food sources we have. On other threads i listed all the possible ways to satisfy your hunger (all the avaiable food), and in the end it becomes something more annoying than "challenging". Thirst would make things WAY more annoying, not challenging.

I cannot think a "problem" that might fit to be "fixed" with thirst... We have enough food and annoyance already and IMHO, adding thirst would be overcomplicate things more.

Oh no, looks like you have to interrupt construction on your awesome castle (again) because your Tiredness meter needs refreshing.

I doubt that Jeb removes hunger anytime soon but I agree that he should not add thirst. We don't need to juggle both hunger and thirst bars.

Probably and that is one of the main reasons i say NO. Its overcomplicating things in vain, not only coding, also gaming.
