This is really stupid because the game is not even ready to be released. The latest snapshot is full of bugs and issues that really need to be fixed and they don't even care. Here are some of the issues and bugs that are going to be released tomorrow.
The first thing bad in this update is the buggy terrain generator. Pine forests will now have pine trees very rarely rather then everywhere like in 1.8 1.0.0 and 1.1. Forest biomes will now have really short trees that look like bushes. Swamp biomes will now have very few trees and mushroom biomes will not have any giant mushrooms in them. The second thing that is bad is the feature of snow golems not leaving snow trails all biomes other then pine forest biomes and tundra biomes. I really liked snow golems because they could turn a boring forest into a snowy fun land (LOL). I also don't think that hostle mobs should drop iron ingots/iron tools/bow because that will make getting iron more easy.
The point of a Minecraft snapshot is to see if the users and community of Minecraft like the changes that are being made to the Minecraft and to make sure bugs with the new features don't get added to an official version of Minecraft. Since the lastest snapshot did have many big issues, I at least expected them to release 12w09a with the main issues fixed before they released 1.2 and since the game was not even ready to be put out of beta in 1.0.0, we should still be in the beta stage.

Everything besides the rare mob drops are clearly unintended. Once Jeb and Jon realize that, they'll fix the issues. Jeb has already fixed the Nether wart thing that was an issue for a while. So, it probably won't be too long, right?
I have been playing the prerelease and I gotta tell you, I am not having any issues with anything. I even went from having 25 to 32 FPS underground to 95 to 105!!
Edit:
I do have one issue; there is no recipe for the new block in SSP.
Are you kidding me? Tomorrow's 1.2? Didn't we just get 1.1 like nearly a month ago?
1.1 came out on January 12th. Since tomorrow will be apparently 1.2, that means that is has been over a month and a half since the last update. In fact, almost 2 months.
Well OP, you certainly don't have to play minecraft if you're apparently so put off by it. Part of updates being released are to fix bugs (the snapshot releases, they find the bugs, the fix them) At least they're involving you and the community in that process. And if you think Mojang doesn't care I dare you to find a company that does as much for their community as Mojang does. Bugs are simply just a part of gaming. Btw thanks for an amazing game Mojang!!!
Listen, you don't know what is fixed and what is not. The only people who know this are the developers themselves. Just because they give you a buggy prerelease doesn't mean that the prerelease is going to be the official release. Unless you've played 1.2 already, how can you complain about bugs that you're not sure about?

The only bug I hate is the chunk regeneration bug which it ruins the stuff you make also I have windows 7 and it also causes lag on my Mindcraft game the chunk regeneration bug.
Why is everyone so mad about mobs dropping rare items? I think it's a nice idea. It's not like finding iron is so hard, I always find some on my first day, sometimes large amounts.
1.2 is going to be the best release to date. A lot of stuff is going to be added. Zombie invasions of villages, Iron golems, upside down slabs and steps, lamps, plus great new AI.

Thanks Mojang!
Don't forgot the increased sky limit! That could possibly be my favorite thing in the update.
Also, cats/kitties/cougars/whatever, jungle biomes, etc.
1.2 is actually one of the updates i am more excited for. It has so many new and fun things, like mob AI. That stuff can really make or break a game. And actually, I think mobs dropping iron is a great idea.

What is wrong with monthly official updates? To me that is a good thing.....

Sounds like a good amount of time to me.
This is a good thing. BE HAPPY!
Well yeah, it was only added to creative for now.
Coming soon: Nintendo World Resource Pack
Thanks Mojang!
