I dislike the generation... I miss the old way the maps were generated, With smaller oceans, and much more fun type things... I also dislike that now there is an end. Like the way I felt in alpha when I built my first home, I miss that feeling, Now it is like, you build a home, you go to the end, and WAM! Your done! Now, It is turrning into an RPG which MUST be stopped. Notch should release an old version of alpha... I am sure that we all miss it somewhat. So...? What do you dislike about 1.0? Post down below :tongue.gif:
I do agree with you on the generation, that is something that should be fixed, though I am fairly sure some changes to that will be on the way, the hills are a nice start.
I do have to disagree on the end bit though, the fact that you can go to the end does not mean you need to do so. You can still just build and explore the regular world like always, and if people want to fight this dragon-thing they can, it even pops them back into the world, as if nothing happened. And really, without prior knowledge of the end and precisely how to get to it, you will never actually find it during regular gameplay, and even then it takes a lot to get there, with (as of now) no reward, so there is really no point to going there at all.
So actually, I am going to have to go in a completely opposite direction, I think that sometime soon-ish, there needs to be a reason for going to the end and beating the dragon (besides the credits(yes I know it will probably be the egg, I am just looking forward to actually using it)).
As for the RPG-ish nature of the thing, it just seemed like a natural progression to me, alpha/early beta was making sure the basics were in place, and late beta/now is adding the actual gameplay mechanics. Though some RPG stuff could have been handled better-the leveling system being used for enchanting seems odd to me-I think overall it is a step in the right direction.
As for any dislikes of my own, some features seem incomplete (AI, generated structures, the end, some of the new mechanics added)but at least most of them are being actively worked on, so I will wait to make an actual complaint. Otherwise, I think it's good, most of the other stuff added was for practical or aesthetic use, fence gates made me smile (no more awkward wooden doors to get to my farm) and the new performance options made my computer happy as well.
So to sum it up, 1.0 makes me happy, though there are a few sloppy bits, they are easily ignored in favor of the better aspects of the game, for now at any rate.
EDIT: Wow, two people posted in the time it took me to write this, I need to get better at typing.
It isn't an end. It's more of something to aim for. After you defeat the boss there's nothing stopping you doing what you did before. It isn't an end. It's more of something to aim for. After you defeat the boss there's nothing stopping you doing what you did before.

Why is that wrote twice?
Anyway I would prefer the Ender to be a simple goal you make for yourself but the those silly credits suggest it's the end of the game. I suggest that the credits should be removed but the Ender stays.
2. Stupidly arranged biomes. Deserts next to tundras next to swamps.
3. Lack of trees, or an overabundance of trees. No comfortable medium.
4. Lack of proper beaches.
5. Lack of clay deposits.
6. NPCs are worthless.
7. NPC villages are poorly designed.
8. Gravel paths look like ****, serve no value since you still have to jump.
Other than that I think the update is pretty damn awesome. Enchanting is awesome. Alchemy is awesome. I'm even pleasantly surprised by the hunger and exp system. I suppose that I'm mainly annoyed that they didn't finish any of what they said they would, even after highly advertising the update. And I'd really like to get some wool half steps and stairs, that would help out massively with design and furnishing.
I dislike the complete easyness of the Survival Mode.
This, too!
The game got way too big of a difficulty nerf. Monsters need to be stronger. And we need a couple hostile day mobs, like bears and comodo dragons :smile.gif: I'm a little tired of fighting everything IN THE DARK. The daytime could use a little adventure, not just leftovers from the night.
Many of the Minecraft Faneboys here will hate what i say but i need to say it.
Minecraft should have more variety in the ressources like terraria have it. More Weapons, More Monsters, More of everything.
I Mean just try to imagine when minecraft could have this really HUGE underground with so much different things like a Jungle underground. Or a really Bug Dungeon with other mobs and and and.
I recently gave Terraria a second shot and I got to admit I agree with this. Those are the only reasons I am currently continuing to play it. DOZENS of craftable recipes and decorations, and a decent variety of monsters in comparison. I gave Minecraft a halt for now until I see an update I like, mainly being more recipes, more creatures, and NPCs that actually do something other than stand around scratching their asses. To me, 1.0 really is not much different than beta other than some cosmetic changes.

Terraria has almost no creative aspect, no redstone, no pistons, very limited building possibilities, and to my knowledge, no farming or anything like that. It's a side-scrolling action rpg with some minecraft elements tossed in. It's kind of ridiculous to compare the two at all. I'm sure Jeb could throw together a half dozen recolors of every mob and a recipe for a useless toilet but he's working on important stuff instead. When the mod api is finished there will be no shortage of new ores and mobs and recipes, since for modders adding those things is a cakewalk. The stuff Jeb is doing now is not so easy, so it's good that he's prioritized it above content that can easily be added by modders.
I don't Mine the End much, especially since I don't have to do it. :tongue.gif: I'm use to the current terrain gen, but I really hate it but at the same time don't mind it much. Everythin else about Minecraft I love or mdon't mind. :smile.gif:
I also like the new 12w1a generator.
It's not the end, it's something you do for a dragon egg trophy and stronghold plunder.

Trolling or just stupid?
Mayhaps you shouldn't be hurling silly accusations at people just because it's popular to **** on WoW.
