Yes, yes a thousand times yes! The void fog was the only feature in Minecraft that really annoyed me. I disliked it so much that I found I was playing less because of it. It just made all my beautiful bottom-of-the-world creations utterly pointless and made it not fun to explore the levels that I liked to explore the most. Good riddance to the void fog I say.
It's not so much that void fog is "gone" so much as it looks like old fog. (I was playing Superflat, and you don't notice the fog unless you're in a large enclosed room, in which you will, actually, see it.)
It was fully removed?
That's nice. That was one of the more legitimately annoying and worthless things out there.
Mainly because you were never actually fighting mobs at Level 4- [Unless in some rare cases . . . caves aren't incredibly common down at the bottom of the map @[email protected]] and it annoyed everyone who wanted to build anything down there.
This is tempting me so ;_; I want to retain my downloaded-update virginity D=
Some people like it. I think it's safe to say that most (including myself and everyone on my server) do not.
Obviously effort was put into coding it. Make it a true/false flag in the config so that servers which want to have it can have it and servers that don't want it don't have to have it. Off by default, of course.
good riddence! I have a room close to br that was a good slime spawning chunk, well lit and open. void fog caused no slimes to spawn and instead, a bunch of baddies kept spawning down there. its gone now and I hd to go wn and clean out the hostiles and lo and behold..... slimes spawning again!
In my underground base, it was so annoying because I couldn't see 2 blocks ahead of me. In ravines, it actually looked cool and made it feel like a real underground ravine. I still am glad it got removed
There should be an option to turn it on or off, to cater to everyone's preferences. I myself liked the fog.
Yes, I liked the effect because to me it was ashes and smoke being near the bottom of the map. Now the bottom of the map feels like ground level except with bedrock.
The people who liked it didn't like it as much as people hated it. That added up to it being more beneficial to remove but I don't see why this can't be a visual option for those of us who kind of like it.
