- Pistons (my favorite thing in the whole game, useful for building).
- Animals don't despawn.
- Nether fortresses. Really great.
- Sheep regrow wool.
- Villages are cool (when they're abandoned or with a pigman texture pack).
Bad features:
- Terrain generation post-1.8. I can't stress this enough. Worst decision in the history of gaming.
- Endermen. Unoriginal and boring, took over MC.
- Dragon. Way too unoriginal and magic for Minecraft.
- Fence connecting. Ruined many builds, should be optional.
- Glostone acting like glass again. Entire worlds destroyed because you can't put things on it! Argh.
- New armor. It's a total fail. Made the game completely unbalanced and it's so easy to get now, hardcore can be as easy as creative. Not exagerating - iron armor alone makes you invincible.
- Enchantments. Always wanted magic to stay away from Minecraft. Plus way too overpowered.
- Potions. Same as above.
- Weapons nerf. WTF I need 5 diamond sword hits to kill a zombie now? And according to Notch (exact words): "So enchantments and potions are required". Second worst move in the history of gaming, only behind terrain generation.
- Villagers. They're just lazy work. We all wanted pigmen, we got that crap.
Note: Pros outweight cons. It's still just a great game as ever.
I like the fact that a lot of blocks take less time to mine. Furnaces, redstone ore, doors, signs, even, all can be mined much quicker than before. I don't like how much XP it takes to level up when you're at a high level. I think I read it takes 1785 mob kills to get to level 50, provided you don't spend it on anything nor do you die. All in all, I'm pretty happy with this update.

Hello, and again, welcome to the Aperture Science Enrichment Center. We are currently experiencing technical difficulties due to circumstances of potentially apocalyptic significance, beyond our control.
Endermen = Blocky version of Slendermen (some internet urban legend) and act like Wheeping Angels from Doctor Who. Completely unoriginal.
And I was saying most of the community wanted pigmen, which is true. And you must agree with me: anything is better than testificates.
Weeping Angels - Statue version of angels that act like little kids who think you can't see them if they don't move. Completely unoriginal.
Slenderman - Tall guy in a suit that has arms like an octopus and skin like an emo kid. Completely unoriginal.
No one has to agree with you on the Testificates, even if I personally do. You are right when you say that Pigmen would've been more well received by the community though.
On topic: The difficulty and spawning need to be increased.
Good:
-Need for food
-More food types(I like variety even if they don't act all that different)
-Breeding(It's not bad, just need to be done a little better but helpful)
-Villages
-Nether Forts/new mobs
-Bigger Biomes
Bad:
-Animals not spawning
-Not enough mobs to fight
-Difficulty needs to be upped a bit overall(armor nerfs, mob damage, mob range[zombies should have at least 3 block range and Endermen should have at least your range of 4+] and maybe a slowdown on natural healing)
-Villagers being useless
-Oceans being boring as freakin hell
-Biomes don't transition well and sandy beaches are gone.
The End basically goes against the type of game Minecraft is. It's an exploration, mining game. In the End, there's no exploration or ores to be found. It's simply a boss room. So, the idea of the Skylands, a chain of islands in the sky with possible new ores, mobs, and all kinds of new blocks, was postponed for the sake of a boss room that no one asked for.
Worst of all, the boss is a dragon. Tell me how that fits in a world where its inhabitants are mostly humanoids. If you're going to implement a boss in The End, at least make it fit the theme.
Enchantments to me are a stupid way to upgrade your stuff. Grind, grind, and grind for XP, and you may not get the enchantment you want.
Instead of enchanting, how about implementing new ores and metals?
We desperately need tiers between Iron and Diamond.
Durability of an Iron Pick: 251
Durability of a Diamond Pick: 1563
Imagine, if Jeb implemented new ores and gems which we could upgrade our weapons and gear with. A fire ruby, for example, could give your sword the fire aspect.
The thing is, Minecraft 1.0 had barely anything to do with MINING and CRAFTING. Instead, they tried to make MInecraft a more combat-like game and failed. There have been no new ores since who knows when, no new crafting benches for bigger recipes, almost nothing added to the roots of the game.

I agree with almost all of your points except the new animal despawning. It seems that unless you get all the animals located right near your house, you have to go to extreme lengths to get them. Along with that point, I dislike how they changed that how mobs could only be generated on grass. Seeing a sheeps stuck in a tree is just silly.

I was wondering, how did all of you get into this game?
I like everything except the terrain which was never one of my major concerns in the first place, in fact, I kind of like all this flat terrain now, it makes traveling easy.
Also, they should fix the dragon hit boxes and make the enchant system decode-able and not random. Wouldn't it be fun to learn the galactic alphabet to your benefit?
NOTE: I know most of the stuff I don't like IS OPTIONAL but I'll say it anyways.
OTHER NOTE: Some things will be both pros and cons.
PROS:
Villages
Ravines
Potions
Enchantments
Animal Breeding
New Music Disks
Mine shafts
Strongholds
All the new Nether stuff
Glass Panes, Fence Gates, and Iron Gates
Snow Golems
New plants(Melons and Pumpkin Seeds)
(I might have missed some stuff :tongue.gif:)
CONS:
In Ravines ores are too easy to get.
Oceans-I don't hate the idea of oceans but they need to be smaller and rarer and if they exist in the first place then they should have something in them
The End-I know its completely optional but in simplest terms it sucks. It's only a boss battle, its bland, and (just my opinion here) there shouldn't be an ending in the 1st place.
Enchantments-They are far too random. I don't hate the idea of random enchantments but they are too random
XP- I like the idea of XP in general but there needs to be some changes. You shouldn't lose all of your XP when you die and other possible ones that could be made.
The new terrain- It's flat, boring, and there are either no trees as far as the eye can see or too many trees as far as the eye can see.
Thats my story.

Agree, and NPC villages just feel out of plaace for some reason.
Good Things:
Bad Things
This is just a start and are my thoughts and opinions.
Many of these items have good and bad sides, but I wanted to keep the list short and sweet.
Please add on because I want to see what you guys think. (Try not to stray too far away from the recent updates.
Try not to argue with others' ideas/opinions just post the same thing under good/bad and explain it.
Just adding one idea is great and keeps the thread growing.
Feel free to repeat ideas with different reasoning.

How exactly are Endermen unoriginal? I've never seen an Enderman anywhere before Minecraft. Also, not all of us wanted Pigmen. I wanted Goblins.

Ender-Griefing
New Terrain Generation (No sand beaches like WTF)
I like the rest :tongue.gif:

I may think of more at a later time
-Enchantments

• Bigger biomes
• Oceans
• Ravines, Strongholds, abandoned mines, rivers, villages
• Endermen
• New nether stuff
• Swamps
• The new items
• Enchanting / Brewing
• Hunger's existence
... there's probably more but I'm too lazy
CONS
• The terrain generator was degraded to something boring and repetitive. To sum it up, the major changes include non-existent beaches, non-existent snowy/sand/forest mountains, flatness everywhere, and the lack of features that were existing before 1.8.
• XP not having a use
• The game is still too easy
• No real reason to explore (which was the point of the adventure update)
• Villagers being non-interactive
• Oceans having nothing to them
• Limited strongholds (not sure about this because I haven't been following MC news)
• Hunger still not a challenge
And that's about it.
Also, they should fix the dragon hit boxes and make the enchant system decode-able and not random. Wouldn't it be fun to learn the galactic alphabet to your benefit?
Also alchemy is to late the games tech to be of any use. The end is uninspired.
