agreed but im not one of the people who complains about that i found it easy as crap in 1.8 and 1.0.0 and not scared at all minecraft just completely turned to babycraft too easy even for a baby who just spams one button :laugh.gif:
The game is different for everyone, if you want that hardcore "OH ****" challenge, get mods. If you want to be peacefully doing stuff, go to peaceful. The game is meant for everyone, all ages, which pretty much means that the difficulty is balanced. I do agree that there should be a difficulty called as "very hard" mode, but I see that Hardcore mode would perfectly do the same.
In conclusion, don't whine for your own comfort, there are other people that has different taste in gaming, if you want comfort, (again) get mods.
If you don't like it, mod it. If the game isn't hard enough for you, just like the posts on the first and second page said, go nerf yourself. Use only wood swords, leather armor, or just punches.
You're trying to change the game for hundreds of thousands of players, just cause you and a few other don't like it. That is exactly why we have mods, for players who want the game different without affecting all the players.

You're wrong on SO MANY levels...
1) It's not "my" opinion.
It's OURS opinion. And there are MANY of us. And WE are players faithful since the earlier stages of Minecraft.
2) You know absolutely nothing about programming. Changing some numbers in the code takes few seconds. Creating API or fixing bugs takes long hours or even days. Fixing our problem can be done during tea-time break.
3) Why are you forcing us not to use armor at all if we just want SOME challenge? We were wearing armor before and the game could still prove to be a little tricky at times. Now it's impossible to get yourself in dangerous situation if you have food and leather armor.
You didn't play 1.7.3 or before - don't talk like you know everything.
@ 1) I know there are many people that don't like that it is easy, but there are also a lot of people that think it is hard, just because it is an opinion doesn't mean it needs catered too. There are other people playing this game that don't want it changed.
@ 2) I do know about programming, and I CAN program, so this whole point is totally irrelevant, I know they could just change a few numbers around, but you can't do that because balance goes out the window if you "just change a few numbers around".
@ 3) That was a SUGGESTION to temporarily fix your problem until the hard mode gets harder. Nobody is FORCING you to do anything, but if you aren't willing to make the game harder on yourself, why should others have to make it harder for you?
And FYI, I was playing 1.7 so why don't you stop talking like you know everything.
Who knows, maybe the AI programmer Mojang is getting for the Villagers will improve the AI of the mobs too, making it so they aren't as predictable and easy to fight.

It's not because of mobs that I want armour to be made less damage-absorby. It's because of PVP. Seriously, two people in diamond armour are going to be fighting for ages, no matter how well armed they are. I saw a video in which one guy in diamond armour was fighting someone unarmoured in a bow sniping match. The unarmoured guy was a far better shot, he got dozens of hits on the diamond-armoured (only slightly exaggerating), but was killed in just three of his opponent's shots. The one in diamond armour, I'm told, didn't even take much damage at all to his armour, and only lost about a heart or so in total, which was healed in an instant.

Mobs do less damage? Hell no. Skeletons now shoot much faster and are more accurate. They don't do less damage, either. So either I have began to suck in 1.0 or you are just getting beat. In 1.0, I am much more scared of mobs than I ever was before.

Yes, i personally dont understand what they are talking about, Yesterday i created a survival map, difficulty hard, in like the 2nd night i wanted some bonemeal to make wheat faster, one hit from an skeleton arrows, like -4 hearts, then comes the armor,after that the " overpoweredness " of armor made sense, mobs do a lot of damage until you get decent armor that will eventually run out and if you keep making more you are going to use a lot of resources.
Now i disagree that armor protection should be changed, also i dont want difficulties to be changed, the only thing that probably could be changed is the resistance ( how much damage it takes to destroy ) of the armor.

How is it broken? Well first off, I just fought a skeleton, who did...HALF a heart of damage, IF he hit me. I left him shoot 5 times. He hit me twice. I didn't Move, I just stood, as he ran around me like a mad man.

Look at the wiki, skeletons do 3 hearts of damage on hard, so either you are not playing on hard, or you are lying about how much damage it did (which you would be lying about both anyways). So, really all you accomplished by posting this is how bad you are at lying, and how you really don't know much of anything on the subject.
Skeletons have been absolutely brutal to me as of late. You can't dodge their projectiles at all, making damage pretty much impossible to avoid. Armor is the logical solution to the problem.

They are programmed to shoot as soon as they spot you. I tested it out in Creative. I spawned a skeleton, and waited until its back was turned before punching it. Before it had even turned around, an arrow had been fired right in my direction.
So what do you wish to do? Nerf the usefulness of armor? We'd just get a horde of threads complaining that the game got too hard. I foresee far more people having a bone to pick with nerfed armor than with the current armor.
I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.
Don't you understand that there are more than one difficulty levels? We don't want to make Easy hard. We want to make Hard not-super-easy which it is right now.

Our proposed changes will not effect you if you don't play on hard. They won't negatively impact ANYONE if they add an actually hard difficulty; theres no logical reason to complain (which of course doesn't won't stop anyone :tongue.gif:) if there is a higher difficulty level available. Nobody loses.
Personally, I don't think we need more difficulty options, we just need to tweak armor values in hard mode, so that its actaully.. gasp.. hard! If it's too hard for you, play on an easier difficulty. Minecrafters who seek the challenge have nowhere to go. I don't tell you to install a mod if you think the game is too hard, but I have to install a mod if the game is too easy?

they need to add some mobs like in Mo' Creatures that only spawn in normal and hard
and some mobs that spawn in easy normal and hard but do extra stuff in hard
