In the latest snapshot you can switch from creative to survival by pressing 'B'. Which is a awesome feature, but you can also switch from survival to creative. Which is not awesome, now you can cheat, and they allow it! Please fix this, it's ridiculous.

"I can see a beautiful sunset rendering in the distance."
1. It would apply to Single player only so any kind of "cheating" would not effect anyone else.
2. I do not see how creative mode in general is cheating in one bit such feature has been wanted since creative mode has been introduced in the base game there needs to be a way to change it without going into the files and do it as such.
3. Switching modes is already possible on SMP server by the admin which can switch at any time for anyone on the server.
Don't want to cheat done use it. If you can't resist "cheating" such as this feature you have more issues then jeb/notch/anyone in general can help with.

I know I can just not use it, but it bothers me that they are giving you a way to cheat in a game mode that is supposed to be played legit.
And as someone above said it could just be a debug feature, but I hope they keep it for creative to survival because that is very useful.

I had my fun with it but now it's just an irritating temptation.
I started a new map and I already got fed up with looking for sheep so I flew around to look for one before it got too dark. :tongue.gif:

Didn't think to, yknow, use the infinite items given to you in creative mode to get the wool?

It's almost 100% a debugging tool. You need to keep in mind that the weekly snapshots are development builds, there will often be "features" and debugging options that you won't see in an official version release.
And if you're seriously worried about being "legit" then you shouldn't be playing the snapshot version in the first place.
I think it's just something Jeb was using to test features, like the glass towers or day/ night switching. The snapshots are pre-releases made for debugging.
Aw man, I remember the F6 time switching. That was so awesome... I wish that MCNostalgia had patchers for the 1.8pre so I could get it back and make some sort of timelapse video of the sun and moon going by.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Random acts of petty fanboyish hatred?
I do regret downloading these snapshots before the actual update though. Every one so far has had one major problem that ruins some of the gameplay like the items falling on tilled plants or this B button one. :tongue.gif:
That post is so retarded I can't even... I'm at a loss for words here. That makes no ****ing sense what so ever, if they weren't meant to be played, why the hell would they release the Snapshots? Are you dumb?
Also, it's a debug feature, like F4 for Portals in the Halloween Update, or Pressing F3 shows numbers above Mob's heads.
They aren't meant to be played, they are meant to be tested. That is very different.
So just because you are able to do it you HAVE to do it? What?
That's almost like saying that you have to cheat on a test just because the answer is on the teachers desk...
You can't get in trouble for pressing b, on top of the fact that it's ridiculously convenient if you want something small.

/devils advocate.
Ya know. It's tuff. But just because you can. Does not mean you have too.
Do you simply run a red light at 4 AM because even the cops are sleeping?
Don't press the little "B"utton.

Yes I do, although I would not use this.

Go on... I'm interested on this.
