Redstone Repeaters?

Hey Guys,

I was trying to build a TNT cannon today. I followed all the steps, but the redstone repeaters on one side weren't being powered. The restone was connected to it, and i even put a torch next to it. Nothing..
Any help?

You have to place them in the right direction, I believe.

The red line w/o the torch should be facing the direction the current is coming from.
