After starting a new server, my friend and I decided to see how quickly we could get to the end. We got to the end and to help deter the endermen we decided to wear pumpkin heads. besides each of us bringing a pumpkin all we had on the two of us was a bow and a stack of 64 arrows. Using the bows/arrows we quickly found out we can shoot down the healers on top of the obsidian towers. After spending no more then 2 minutes on getting rid of those, we quickly started attacking the dragon and soon found out that while we wore pumpkin heads the dragon could NOT cause us damage, this made the battle infinitely easier. So we quickly ended up killing the dragon and 'beating' minecraft using nothing more then a pumpkin, a bow, and 64 arrows. I know there are some complaits about the end battle but I feel if its really this easy there is no point
I know, I was wearing full iron armor expecting a challenging fight, but it couldn't even damage me! How could they miss a bug like that?! All it did was push me around!
The first time I ran in naked with 30 arrows and destroyed all but 2 crystals and died.
Second I ran in with iron top/pants/boots and the dragon didn't damage me(didn't have anything on my head) and I killed it. I was more afraid of the enderman..
I agree, THE DRAGON IS WAY TOO GODDAMN EASY
It should spit fire and fly fast.
It was kinda hard in Single Player, but it has to be hard in SMP in the same thing.
I can see how it could be hard, but having the ability to use a pumpkin to become invincible is way to over powering and should not be included. I also feel arrows should not cause the 'healers' to explode

I agree that it does need a ranged attach! I feel the real challenge is simply surviving long enough with out endermen killing you first!
But you have a decent knowledge of the game. A person who does not know how to make a mob trap could take a long time to get two stacks of arrows. You also knew exactly what to do hence "as quickly as you could" If you did it as quickly as you could why complain?
I complain because with a pumpkin helmet you become INVINCIBLE!
#1 A pumpkin on your head only effects enderman not attacking you from looking at them, it doesn't effect the dragon in any way.
#2 If you thought that fight was difficult you probably weren't wearing armor or you were staying at a high elevation where it could knock you off and hurt you from fall damage.
I never use mob spawners, I make a chicken farm for feathers, place and re-mine gravel blocks to get flint and sticks well I'm sure you know.

I dissagree with #1. While wearing the pumpkin we let the dragon attach as and all it did was push us around with out causing damage. Without the pumpkin we took the damage when we were attacked.
When I was naked the dragon did 5 hearts of damage, when I put on a couple of iron pieces it didn't hurt me. I wore a pumpkin mask occasionally just so enderman wouldn't bother me but I took it off because I couldn't see anything. Tbh I wasn't sure if pumpkin protects you but I guess wearing almost anything protects you.

You should have to blow it with an ender eye instead of punching/shooting it.
Step 1: kill enderman and blazes and combine enderpearls and blaze powder to make eye of ender, throw it in the air to locate stronghold. In stronghold there is a room where you place eyes of ender into the slots to activate portal.
3 strongholds per world roughly 600-1000 blocks away from origin and all three are 120degrees from eachother.

I think the question is how did they get to the End portal in so little time? Sounds like finding the portal was the easy part!

The Internet is a big place, friend. I've been places you've n͍̺e̩v̦e̦̰͍͓̩ͅr̜̭̝̬̬͉̤̬ ͙ịm̖͇a͍͇̤͙̥g̤̘i͔͖̤̼̪̬n͖͔̳̬̯e̩̘ḓ͈͔̠̙͇̼̯.͎
basically as i understand it if you have X armor points the ender dragon cant hurt you at all. at first me and my friend thought it was the diamond armor we both had but go in there with a steel chest plate and legs and you take nothing from the dragon. And yea the speed at which they located the end seems to be rather fast i agree, mcedit maybe? also the problem with the dragon does lie within the fact you become invincible with enough armor and even the endermen arent a problem if you have a diamond sword and some half decent armor. And to clear up the dispute the pumpkin helmet does jack all to help you fight the ender dragon, it helps with ender men and that is all, you're invincible because of your armor not the fact your running around with a giant veggie on your head. All that needs to change is that the dragon needs to be able to breath fire/spit fire balls and no matter how much armor the player is wearing the dragon can hurt them, majorly, even with diamond.
The end would be hard if you couldn't hit the healing orbs with arrows.
BUT...
On my first visit to the end, the obsidian landing platform was overt the VOID. I was wearing all my diamond armour and carrying lots of arrows BUT NO BLOCKS available to even build my way over. The dragon came along and in a few seconds of arriving, pushed my off the platform and into the void where I lost ALL my good enchanted stuff!
On returning to the end, now there are TWO enderdragons going around. This is clearly a bug. Makes the end zone very hard. They're constantly pushing me off the ledges and into the void. I can't even hide as they go through blocks anyway.
So now with no arrows I figure I can at least climb the obsidian platforms with a pile of blocks at knock them out by hand. It's frustratingly near impossible. As soon as I get close, an enderdragon attacks from the other side of the tower where I can't see him and knocks me off.... and I fall far, losing all my stuff. I figure it's pointless to take much into the end, cause I'm just going to lose it all anyway to this incredibly cheap boss. Even if I'm lucky to get to the top of an obsidian pillar without dying, hitting th orb up there explodes me anyway. There's simply no reward for trying to play like this, and yet it is challenging.
Still can't quite finish it with no equipment. Keep dying. ARRGHHH!
I figure it could be a good gameplay element if we'd actually have to build our way over somewhere while fending off the dragon. That sort of ties in with the whole building aspect of the game. That would require at least making blocks available from the obsidian platform and not allowing it to hover over the void. Perhaps we'd have to climb our way up over islands? Ender eyes are plentiful here too thanks to all the endermen, so you could even island hop with them. That would add the the gameplay element a bit so it's not all about just hitting the bloody dragon.
There's quite a few gameplay elements available here, but in it's current form, we really can't make use of them.

The pumpkin helmet doesn't stop the dragon dealing damage to you because the dragon doesn't deal damage anyway.

Still too easy. You shouldn't be dying in this game.
Agreed, and I feel they should be the least of your problems!
