So... Minecraft officially goes live tomorrow. Is anyone going to be starting a new world in Minecraft 1.0?
I, for one, am going to be starting a new world. My current one has been tamed too much, and I'm getting bored. I've explored the mega-caves within range of my castle and its three outposts. I've got chests full of redstone and glowstone, more diamond than I'll ever need, several Fortune II and III pickaxes (but never a silk touch, which is less desirable anyway), a monster farm, and I've just finished a controlled dungeon! I haven't been to the End, and I'm not planning on it, but once again I think it's time to start fresh.
I most definitely will because I haven't started a new one in quite some time, and because of all the new things that have come to Minecraft lately! :biggrin.gif:
Possibly. I have a small world going that I'd like to keep expanding. It's based off the model of my first world: Small houses with extensive linking, minimal underground work, and lots of messing around with design.
I start a new world with each release/prerelease. First I take lots of screenshots of the old world though. It's a building game so it makes sense to restart each time. I've been using prere1.9.5 to brush up on building techniques while I wait for the full release. Tomorrow is gonna be awesome.
Certainly. It will probably be the default type "Island", and of size "Normal", and I'm bent between giving it a normal theme or going with the "Woods" theme.
No, but on a more serious note I'll probably set up a new level in 1.0, since I haven't actually played the pres to avoid spoiling things (I've only messed around them in Creative)
I will only do so if they have changed world gen again since RC2.
If it's the same as RC2, I'll stick with a new world I started there a few days ago. It's still in it's infancy, and all I've really done there is get a small branch mine started. I haven't explored much or done anything new in it yet.
Unless there's a change to the world building code, or I've managed to destroy the place with a forest fire or something, nope.

More Ocean Life: Kelp, Coral, Crabs and Jellyfish; Coconut Palm trees for beaches and islands. Terrain Generation Changes: Which biomes and world-building features are most in need of change?
Not if they didn't mention anything new. It sounded quite worthless to actually make a new one if nothing significant happens in the biome/terrain generator codes.

I'm leaving the forum, if anyone cared. You can find me on OC or FFR.

You know, that's the whole point of an almost infinite world. When you feel you've done enough or explore enough around your area, move on if you want to to another place and start over with some stuff carried from your previous area or don't carry anything as to make a fresh new start in the same world where new stuff can be found. A perfect example of this is a Youtube Minecraft series: "Coe's Quest." You might want to watch that if you never seen it before. :smile.gif:
Also, unless Notch does a major or at least over minor changes to the terrain generator, I'm sticking to this world. This is the very first time I had a world with slimes and I've played Minecraft since September 8, 2010. :smile.gif:
Probably not. My main SSP (Actually, only SSP, since the others are technically CSP) is very well developed, and I'd hate to part with it. Then again, a new world would be kind of fun, depending on what new features are added.

SPAAAAAAAAAAAACE!
"Look at me still talking when there's science to do. When I look out there it makes me glad I'm not you."
Didn't see "Still playing Skyrim" as a vote option.
Many people will probably still be waiting for the bug fix patches on Skyrim at that point. Kind of hard to play a game that crashes and forces you to hard reset your computer every five minutes.
I won't get to play much until monday night, but I will be starting a whole new world. Not so much because of the release, so much as because I have become bored with my current world.
