It would seem that goodwill between Skyrim developer Bethesda and Mojang's Notch continues despite recent tensions with Bethesda's publishing company. While not directly confirmed, it is suspected that the Notched Pickaxe (seen above) is a quiet homage to the indie developer. The Bethesda team are known to be avid Minecraft fans, playing the game in their spare time, even during development of Skyrim. Of note, the pickaxe even resembles the titular item from Minecraft in its design, although with a much higher-resolution texture pack. Does this mean a similar inclusion of a Skyrim-themed easter egg may pop up in future Minecraftupdates? Only time will tell!
And there were also no red dragon, and no fish at RC2, that actually supposed to be the full version, and also no adventure mode and capture the flag mode...
For as long as people enjoy and purchase the game, I will develop extensions after the game is done.
Once sales start dying and a minimum time has passed, I will release the game source code as some kind of open source. I'm not very happy with the draconian nature of (L)GPL, nor do I believe the other licenses have much merit other than to boost the egos of the original authors, so I might just possibly release it all as public domain.
Updates and DLC will be developed as long as Minecraft stays hot, and after that it gets the source code released. So pretty much it's a never ending party.

"I'm an outsider by choice, but not truly.
It’s the unpleasantness of the system that keeps me out.
I’d rather be in, in a good system. That’s where my discontent comes from:
being forced to choose to stay outside.
My advice: Just keep movin’ straight ahead.
Every now and then you find yourself in a different place."

This is an obvious yes. Updates will continue even if the game is in full version.
Its the same process again for all other games that just got off of beta stage.
