1) The new "falling injury" sound makes me wince every time I hear it, as it sounds like your avatar is telescoping his shins,
2) the "eating" sound sounds like bits of dry stone scraped together (almost nails-on-a-chalkboard),
3) the new wooden pressure plate sound is a ridiculous Star Wars-esque "pwing" sort of deal,
4) the new door sound adds a metallic squeak that really gets on my nerves - ESPECIALLY with the double door glitch that means I now get to hear that irritating sound a minimum of four times in a row when closing a set of double doors.
I plan to install a modpack to get the old sounds back as soon as one is available, whether or not they are changed in the official release.
I might edit sounds. Bells are lame, I can't hear the getting hurt sound and the tools breaking sound scares the crap outta me. For some reason it sounds like a cap gun or trap going off.
I really hate the bow :sad.gif: That was the thing, imo, that made skeletons so intimidating. They aren't hard to fight but hearing the old bow sound out of nowhere was the ONE thing that made me jump when exploring, especially in a cave. Now skeletons are just annoying.
The creeper sounds like a *poof* ( I like the blocks falling sound though), and I think the new door sound should be ONLY for the chest.
And I LOVE the new bow sound, its sounds like your silently taking out a creeper or something.
While I like the new variety of sounds, some of the new ones are a little grating for things you will hear over and over. The original sound effects are more subdued and easier on the ears.
As a next step, they should randomly alter the pitch slightly so each open/shut of a chest is a little different (like differing footsteps.)
NO minecraft is changing: everyone quits mojang goes bankrupt
Everyone quits, Mojang keeps their money and doesn't go bankrupt.
Minecraft is not a game that has a monthly sub, it's a pay X amount of money to buy a license to play until you get bored game. Everyone could quit playing the game and Mojang wouldn't lose any money. They'd probably stop working on Minecraft, but they have other games to work on, so net loss of nothing.

Just waiting for Forge to officially release for 1.13.x to remove unneeded mobs from 1.13, like Phantoms, from the game because, in my gameplay based opinion, they add nothing of value to the game.
Fun fact: Clicking a bed every 30 minutes doesn't make you a better player, it makes you one who clicks a bed every 30 minutes. Wouldn't you rather just mod them out of the game completely?
I love the new door and bow sounds... since they actually sound like doors and bows. Doors creak... the old door sounded like someone dropping a plank on the ground. Longbows are quiet... the old bow basically made a crossbow sound.
Also, anyone else think we could use a flint and steel sound? You're banging a rock against metal; you could get a really cool sound effect for that.
Some of the new sounds seem to grate against my ears :sad.gif: I hate the sound of a tool breaking. Eating sounds are a little unnerving. The new sounds startle me a lot sometimes.
Also, I was terrified the first time I heard the Endermen sounds. Definitely made my nightmares!
Finally, there seem to be a ton of new mob sounds that are scaring me away from expanding my mine.
Overall...it's not good, but i definitely appreciate the new Endermen noises.

Does anyone else really dislike the new sounds? The sounds for explosions, bows, and doors have changed (If there are any I have missed, please tell me!).
Perhaps I'm just used to the old sounds.
Also, if anyone would care to tell me how to change the current sounds to the old ones, that would be greatly appreciated. I do have a backup of 1.8.1 and other older builds of Minecraft, so it shouldn't be too difficult for me to get the old sounds.
Problem with new explosion sounds simply put : Lightning when it hits the ground XD The old sound was way more dramatic when 2,000 tnt blocks were set off, so I'll have to say the old sound was better. The door sounds are a bit on the annoying side.

Its in 1.8.1 as well. I'm running 1.8.1 (or whichever before the 1.9 pre-releases) and they're there as well. You'd have to go older.

Really like enderman.
This. No way should a program under the user's control update itself without prompting first.

I suppose I'll have to get used to it.
The Nether monsters have neat sounds!
Seems like the Blaze is made of metal?
Still, they're pretty good overall.

TNT sound is kinda cool also,
But the arrow? No. It's HORRIBLE.
I really do hope this is just atry-out thingy....
