- add underwater content (remember that? I do!)
- Fix xp balance

"Science isn't a matter of WHY, it's a matter of WHY NOT? WHY is so much of our science dangerous? Why don't you marry safe science if you love it so much? In fact, why don't you invent a special safety door that won't slam you in the butt on your way out? BECAUSE YOU ARE FIRED!" -Cave Johnson
Not "one" argument, but THE argument that has been used by Notch fanboys to dismiss EVERY criticism about the game since it started. It is a very big turning point where people will hopefully start to see how woeful the development of the game has been and how incompetent Notch really is because he will not be able to hide behind the "beta" tag anymore. The game will be complete and will be judged as such, and I can tell you right now it ain't looking too good.
Everything on your list is either:
A. Intentional
B. Can be added later in a post-release update
C. Cancelled
In fact, if you ever make a game, then I will go complain directly to you on how everything in your game is useless or needs to be "fixed" because I don't like it.
I'll say that there needs to be a reason to go to the final area other than get some stupid items and fight a stupid final boss, grab some random feature out of the air and say you need to add it, say that everything needs to be fixed, make up a bug that needs fixing, and tell you to add something that you SPECIFICALLY said was cancelled.
By your logic, every game is incomplete, since there's stuff in the coding that wasn't used.

No, he was correct, ONE argument. There are plenty of others people use against those like yourself. Ignoring them doesn't make them disappear. The problem is your criteria for judging Mojang incompetent and the game unfinished is based entirely on an opinion reached through ignorance.
Actually, I think this thread perfectly illustrates the mentality of some of the more active complainers on here. They don't care about actually offering feedback on the game, they just want to *****, moan and argue, so they set arbitrary and unreasonable expectations which they claim the developer and game should meet so they can dump on everybody else's fun. Think about it, this thread serves no purpose whatsoever apart from counting down until they can complain some more.

Except, the game has been in Beta testing, and it has been a very valid reason for many things. Even after release, there will still be bugs, it's almost impossible for any game to hit release bug-free.
You know, the game is looking pretty good right now, and when it hits release people aren't going think Notch is incompetent or the development was "woeful". It's also your opinion that Notch is incompetent and that development has been "woeful", not actually a fact.

Just waiting for Forge to officially release for 1.13.x to remove unneeded mobs from 1.13, like Phantoms, from the game because, in my gameplay based opinion, they add nothing of value to the game.
Fun fact: Clicking a bed every 30 minutes doesn't make you a better player, it makes you one who clicks a bed every 30 minutes. Wouldn't you rather just mod them out of the game completely?
I remember when people didn't whine so much about Minecraft. They looked past the bugs, and the unfinished bits and found a fun game. But now, it's all about the bad parts. We've played the game out and are just looking for the bad points to pick at. Pretty sad actually, that the one place that is supposed to be full of diehard fans is really just full of whiners that log on to talk about how bad Minecraft is.
"Release" is a strange phase for Minecraft, considering that aside from the fact that it is the last phase of Minecraft development, and therefore the one where Minecraft will eventually officially come to a close, it won't be much different than the other phases -- we'll still got more content, and the like, heh.
It will be fun but I don't really think they'll be any more complaining than there is already, heh.

Pretty weird.
I have never heard anything more correct in my entire life. Never ever.

Goodbye "It's Beta". Hello "It's still being updated".
I honestly have no problem with that. He and Jeb have a lot to do, and not all of it will be done by release. The game is still going to be updated after release so what's the problem?
Seriously, people who point out valid issues with a good argument, good work keep it up.
Those who whine about "where's this" or "why doesn't this do this yet" and back themselves up with cheap information? Don't be upset when someone tells you to have some patience when you complain about something that's obviously going to be adjusted or addressed. Discuss or argue on HOW it's going to be addressed, not that it hasn't been yet (Unless it's been a LONG time without any info on the subject).
I'm not saying the OP did any such thing; I'm just settling this "It's Beta" is a BS argument crap. If used out of context, yes, but many people seem to just try and rule it out because they don't want to hear something that shoots down THEIR BS argument down instantly. Those on both sides just need to learn to point their fingers in the right direction.
Why can't just point out bugs, discuss legitimate issues that effect gameplay, and get along instead of whining over every little thing?

I've honestly seen the "[x feature] is optional" form of argument used much more than the "Minecraft is in beta." Also, whether or not Minecraft looks good depends on the individuals who play the game. Going by the polls I've seen, there is a good number of people who think the game does look good.
There's absoulely zero reason to assume that the pre-releases we have access are an accurate representation of what has actually been completed. Especially if the company want to keep aspects of the game a secret, and know that we will butcher code to reveal as much as possible before then (Such as dragons).
Notch has 12 days to:
*Code dragons so they spawn in The End This is probably already done. It would only take a few minutes anyways.
*Make some sort of way to return to overworld without dying in the end This is probably already done. Even if it isn't, this shouldn't take more than an hour to code.
*Add "Beat the dragon/boss/whatever" achivement This is probably already done. It would only take a few minutes anyways.
*Give NPCs a use
*Fix village and mineshaft spawn (Villages intersect with shitload of stuff, most of them have roads full of holes, mineshafts are too common) Good point.
*Give new items a crafting purpose (Blaze rods, powders etc.) Where have you been?
*Give us the reason to use potions (Boss fight?) The boss fight will be the ender dragon. This is already almost complete and they only need to add some attacks.
*Fix bugs, polish the gameThey've been doing this.
At least he tried.

On that day, all the other arguments will have their time to shine... No more "but it's in beta" to hold them back from the limelight.

Besides the "but it's beta or still being updated" is a good reason.
Dragons not finished? It's still being updated. Duh?
Mostly moved on. May check back a few times a year.
I'm confident they will deliver.
Not valid yet :S
