I just wanted to talk about how 1.8 and 1.9 have been changing pvp servers. I play only pvp/faction servers. 1.8/1.9 have been ruining some of MY Minecraft experience. First of all the hunger bar. Makes it so you can't instant heal in battle. Sprinting, makes it so if someone sprint hits you, you fly back very far. Potions/enchantments, these will give players more advantage than just armour and sword types. End Zone, i'm not sure how this will effect them just yet. Also, in some ways I find 1.9 a bit rediculous. The village NPCs look abnormal. There's nothing wrong with that I would just like to know why they thought of making them look like that. Anyways i'm not sure if these things are good or bad. What do you think?
Really, if you play on PvP servers, you better learn to deal with it and use these features. If you don't want to, you don't belong on PvP servers. You can't expect freedom on those kinds of servers.

Look at the mechanics of the game. Look at how it all works. PVP? I doubt it was ever intended. Nor even cared about. It was a consequence to the mechanics of the game, not a feature. It's not like an MMORPG. There aren't classes, or skills, or anything. I don't think it ever was or ever will be geared towards PVP in any sense, so yeah, things may continue to "break" it because they don't care about it.
Frankly I think all of these things make PVP servers even better! The End can be used as a battle field or something of the like and not only that, you can make potion grenades and bombard your enemys with weakness potions! Look at the positive. You can use these things against your enemies.

combat in minecraft has always been dodgy. It's hard to tell how close you need to be to land a hit....not to mention the simple action of combat looks stale.
methinks they could of done a lot better. Right now the combat reminds me of Morrowind. Shitty. Everything else is great. But that combat man...boring.
If pvp wasn't meant for minecraft, why did Notch add it? Explain, please.
Because the other players are mobs controlled by them, maybe? Besides, if someone's robbing your house, are you supposed to sit there and watch as all your diamonds are lost? Now, before you say Notch could just make chests lock, consider dungeons. All three of them.

Well, I run a 1.8 server locally(lag free because it is local) in which I PVP a lot. PVPing isn't really that bad with 1.8, I haven't been able to try it with 1.9 though. I really don't get what this dude is complaining about. It used to be a battle of whoever has the most mushroom soups wins. Now if both people have the same connection, it only matters based on how you utilize all the new features.
Really, if you play on PvP servers, you better learn to deal with it and use these features. If you don't want to, you don't belong on PvP servers. You can't expect freedom on those kinds of servers.

The features are beneficial.
Potions? Make the negative ones into splash potions and r*pe everyone in the server.
Enchantments ? Make an awesome armor , and if you can make your diamond sword into an epic sword.
Everything in the adventure update is beneficial for the PVP servers.
