Your computer blows up when you get hit by a fatal creeper explosion?
At least that would prevent them from posting a QQ thread on the forum straight away... ;o
But seriously, attack creepers with a bow only. Why take the risk of going melee if you don't have to?
Also: blast protection enchants on armor are your friend. Or throw a splash slow potion on a creeper. :smile.gif:
That wouldn't be so bad except that to get enchantments, you need to find at least 5 diamonds and kill tons of mobs to get decent enchantments, and you'll need to kill blazes and creepers to get splash potions. That can be rather challenging in hardcore.
That creeper bug should be reported, though. Explosion damage should be fairly uniform, unless we hear otherwise from Mojang.
Lots of people who complain about hardcore mode act like 'not rage-quitting' is some feat of superhuman calm and patience, rather than an ability you get upon advancing to double digits in age.
I don't find Hardcore mode to be too much of a challenge. I've played a HC world for quite some time now (I hope I'm not getting too attached to it) where I've spent nights in a forest slaying mobs. I've also explored numerous and expansive caves and abandoned mine shafts, taken down cave spider spawners, and the like. All without reaching half health, ever. A little patience combined with preparation and awareness will defeat any difficulty added by Hardcore.
Yeah, I died a couple times when I started using Hardcore mode, but it was just because I was complacent. Now I have a couple HC worlds I use almost exclusively (a SkyBlock and an island).

That's why in hardcore mode you don't act like a complete dumb ass. Sure in regular survival you can charge head first into a Mineshaft with no armor and stone weapons, or just jump in front of creepers and take leaps of faith down 50 blocks into water. Not even worry about food because if you die who cares?
You can't do these kinds of things in Hard core. It's about logical thinking and planning, being careful. You have to stop and examine the situation and think about what you are doing and the possible out comes and if it is even worth it at all. When playing hardcore you don't just run head first at a creeper just because you can, even if you have full diamond armor. That's just stupid.
That's the point of hardcore mode. When you start a hardcore world, you are acknowledging that it is going to be challenging to the point of being unfair, and agree not to get angry at it if you die.
I could tell at this point where the post was going.
The hardcore mode exists for those times where you have 15 minutes to kill and don't want to think about what to do next in your other worlds.
If you ever get to 29 in hardcore, then you are simply trying too hard. Dying to a creeper to force you to restart is just what you need to regain the proper prospective.
If you really want to get a higher score in hardcore mode than all your friends, just make a farm next to a zombie spawner, and shut the world out. Of course, you could just challenge your friend to a staring contest instead. The results will be the same.
- Invaders attacking from the nether and the ender. (Basically mobs coming out of portals)
- Food gives only 50% then normal
- No diamonds (only in dungeon chests)
- Tools breaking 100% faster
- All creepers and pigs become electrocuted

What is really ******** is when you lose your world not from dying, but because of your world corrupting for no reason and it disappearing. That was BS.
Although, I'm not complaining... just stating it happened to me and sucked. I do understand the game is in Beta and not polished and still has many bugs. BUT, if the world corruption problems aren't fixed by full release I will not be playing Hardcore mode.
I'm very excited for Hardcore mode on full release. I don't think it's a ******** mode at all and many people like myself love the challenge and sense of accomplishment. But right now, the game isn't polished and bug-free enough to properly play Hardcore.
So I wouldn't judge the mode until we see what happens upon full release.

I am appalled that you put those two names in the same sentence...

That made me laugh.
I think that's probably a bit of graphic lag or something like that. There's no way that could have happened without something going wrong.

I was super pissed.
