Designs change as ideas and development move along. What might have seemed like a great idea initially might have not been as good a fit later in development.

This doesn't come as a shock to me, as there was basically zero development on the skylands -- it seems like neither of them wanted to implement it as-is.

I'm probably going to use the 1.8 generator as a template for a future mod though, as it had potential to make a quite nice dream universe of some sort -- or in gameplay terms, a nonhostile realm that only becomes hostile when you trigger it to be so :tongue.gif:

You create an entire topic that went into 13 pages, in denial of every bit of evidence/commenting posted within reasonable speculation that "The End" is "Sky Realm" and now you want to spend another topic crying that you don't like it.

(Edit: And they could still decide later on after official release to make it an expansion more like what you expected. He said it was rebranded, he did not say the idea died completely, nor there is not a possibility for it to be implemented later when they have the time. You jump to a "World is going to End!" pessimism reaction and ignore the gaps in what he said vs what he has not said.)

I agree, beta is made to see what works and what doesn't. the skyworld obviously had major bugs in it since it WAS made months ago but never implemented. I might have been impossible to fix or require extreme programming skills. The ender is ok with me. Besides, they never showed the whole ender, just screen shots mainly of the sky. the ground hasnt really been seen yet so maybe it is skyworld.

This makes me sad. Mostly because in 1.7.3, we had lots of fun making elaborate sky cities, castles, airships, and other neat flying (stationary) things on Terracraft's Skylands. We just used multiverse to generate it and /warp to get there. Too bad those days will never return. No one will want to build in The End. It's too gloomy and enderdragons will come and destroy your stuff. DX

skylands looked boring, just regular land in the sky. Woop de doop. Did they plan to make it a feature as good as the aether?

there was no evedince at all in that thread confirming ender way skyland. what the hell are you talking about?

*facepalm* The world type options are still due after release which will allow you to generate different types of overworlds. The skyworld will most likely be included.

Skylands means land in the sky.

I thing the Ender can be both the Ender and the skylands.

Deal with it. Mojang can do whatever they want with their games.

Yup. Seople heard "skylands," and formed preconceptions based on some popular mods and a couple of insanely early screenshots.

I'm glad Mojang is still throwing curveballs instead of just implementing things exactly as people expect them. I can't imagine how stifling it would be to be handcuffed to this audience's expectations.

I mean -- "I have lost a lot of respect for you" -- over this? Gimme a break. Get a sense of proportion.
