Personally, I consider every opinion on glass towers completely invalid, as it's a debug tool and isn't supposed to be for public viewing. Therefore, I LOL in advance at anyone who says they like it or don't.
As for the pie chart, it looks cool, but to be honest, I'm not sure what kind of impact it has, other than narrowing down exactly what's lowering my FPS if I'm having trouble. On that subject, anyone else note that the performance seems moderately better in Pre3?

F3 now drops my framerate considerable, which is funny, because that's how I see my framerate. Can't observe my framerate without affecting it now lol.
Overall I've found this update has improved performance tho.

To be frank, I actually kinda like the pillars. With the new, uber-vast terrain generation, finding a stronghold has become orders of magnitudes harder. I think we need some sort of item that will point to them. I have only ever found one outside of creative, and that was because of that finder program.
Also, the circle, urrrgggghhhh. If you play the game at default resolution it takes up like 2/3 of your screen.
