Wow cool, you actually added my idea to this poll ? Sweet :smile.gif:
Addition :
If animals would eat tall grass, which itself should grow, too, we had a pretty nice precondition for herding animals, because a number of mobs would need a certain area, which is big enough to sustain them. Could prevent mass production :laugh.gif:
I'm aware this is a bit tricky to implement, but it would be a very nice addition.
P.S: How do you intend to remove incest ? You would need to make every animal unique so you can actually avoid this ^^
I'd be worried about the lag this might cause on slower machines, especially in grasslands. It would be like having a 1,280 block farm which was constantly being updated.
Rope: used to make animals fallow you
Genders: can only breed with the opposit gender
*Pregenate: once an animal mates it takes so-and-so time for a baby animal to pop out
Dont f**k me time: an animal has to wait so-and-so time before they can have another baby
*Baby: has to grow up to be able to breed and/or killed or unwooled
Item to see when a baby can grow, how long till a baby appears, and when it can mate again
Different animals eat different things
You can breed different colors of sheep
*chickens lay an special tiny egg block that hatches tp a chick maybe? it takes just as much time for it to become egg to adult as a baby animal to adult
Welcome! If you are new to this thread, it is suggested that you read the initial original post in the spoiler below. It contains the ideas and videos from myself, as well as the starter for discussion in this thread. If you are not new to the thread, and are here to continue a discussion or read updated ideas and give your suggestions, you may skip the below spoiler and continue reading the rest of this post. Again, it would be highly respected if you could form your posts in a non-agressive and passive manner. If you would like to continue reading user comments from post-update comments, please click here: LINK
Also, please feel free to vote in the poll. Who knows, maybe Notch will read the forums. Highly unlikely, but hey, it's a Beta, let's have our voices heard!

I sort of made my post as tongue in cheek, but I'm glad it got picked up :biggrin.gif: For that I salute you. And changing the thread to push it away from a hate thread to a actually discussion and suggestion thread (not something you had intended to begin with I bet)
They attack sheep exactly like now.
They attack pigs, and after attacking a pig, the wolf is able to have a pup.
They can only attack cows as a group of 3 or more wolves.
If they don't eat for 4 minecraft days, the wolf dies.
Sheep/pigs/cows eat long grass to survive.
If they are "full" for more than a minecraft day, they have a lamb/piglet/calf, assuming they haven't in the last week.
Long grass regrows at some rate
Once a "pack" of an animal gets to 5 in size, they split into two packs and move away from each other.
If they don't eat grass for 4 minecraft days, they die.
So then we have complete predator/prey cycles!
Plus, we can make animal pens that NEED to be a decent size to allow them to eat grass, or we have to supplement with wheat!
Notch has stated several times that this system is only a placeholder and with 1.9 full we will see possibly baby animals, a new food to breed with and a cool down time.
No, I'm not. Read what you quoted. ""I don't have proof that it is or isn't complete, I'm just making suggestions based on the current system, not any future plans.""
I did. I also read your original post, which read a lot more like what I said. >.> In any case, here's that word of god proof you wanted.

What use is an ear that does not hear, or a mouth that does not speak?
Anyway, animals breed with each other all the time. Especially in farms. (I believe)
That isn't actually true, they don't breed with each other all the time. In fact, it's in the farmer's best interest to keep track of the lineage of their livestock so they can avoid inbreeding as much as possible.

Just waiting for Forge to officially release for 1.13.x to remove unneeded mobs from 1.13, like Phantoms, from the game because, in my gameplay based opinion, they add nothing of value to the game.
Fun fact: Clicking a bed every 30 minutes doesn't make you a better player, it makes you one who clicks a bed every 30 minutes. Wouldn't you rather just mod them out of the game completely?
I like how you sit there and ***** about the pre-release and try to start a flame war over something stupid, then when Notch ultimately makes you look stupid you change the name of the thread and take away all the inflammatory remarks.

I'm not sure what you're referring too, but if the issue has been resolved wouldn't it be appropriate to repurpose the thread that is about the same topic?

Even though Phar promised to remove the thread if the system was changed, promising everyone that it wouldn't, and admitted to creating a flame war just to get people to pay attention to Phar. Phar constantly insulted anyone for saying just wait. Which, as it turns out, was a good idea.
Also Phar is now bitching about more meaningless things. Honestly I'm sad to see minecraft's community isn't any better than other communities.

So, using the Hardy-Weinburg Principle, we can figure out what the frequencies of each allele are.
For random spawning, a random number generator should be used to pick six alleles, two per gene, for each sheep.
So, for the grey scale genes:
.68 probability for a W allele
.32 probability for a b allele
For the brown/pink genes:
.79 for W allele
.17 for b allele
.04 for p allele
