I could be making a fuss over nothing here as i have not looked at the pre release and have no intention of after the head ache 1.8 caused me due to my server.
Don't get me wrong I like the potions idea. The main problem i have with them is the inventory it is no longer centered and its utterly stupid my ocd is going mental its off putting to put things on the hotbar and it just makes me want to stop playing Minecraft. there was no reason at all to move it from the center the new indicators could of been beside it or even both sides of it. it needs to be put back in its centered Position.
So what do you think?
Another thing that bugs me is that flying is tied in with creative you cant have flying with out creative and having them as 2 separate things would be every nice from a server admins point of view. I don't mind my vip players flying and would love to provide a server side flying to them but at the same time i don't want to totally destroy the smp side to the server by giving them creative.

Animal breading Over powered find 2 cows + some wheat = game win I don't think that is right and some birth time / chance of not breeding should be implemented.
Chicken egg's useless? why spam eggs on the ground when you can just feed them wheat that's another thing should you not feed them wheat seeds instead? surely that would be more realistic.
I dont mind MMO style play but if your going to add MMO elements you need to balance it out. as it stands you can have every thing you could want with in an hour plugins like mcmmo are far better suited than any thing mojang has implemented to date just saying :sad.gif:
Fly mod is not the right answer to flying in a server and here's the problems with it.
1. some players can not install them.
2. they have insane speeds and that leads to the map expanding and server lag from all the chunks being requested so fast.
3. the server is confused about the players Pos.
Creative should be Creative like it was before SMP and before survival with out flying. flying should be optional.

Breeding is still in it's very early stages. Later versions could feature eggs (For all animals, including cows and such. O_o.) Baby animals that take time to grow up, etc.
Besides how is it easier than the way it was before? I never used to have any issues with animal scarcity in the past. Now, if I don't create something to corral them in, plant some wheat, and herd a few animals together in order to create a sustainable supply, I quickly find that I have a serious problem with animal scarcity.
Also, successfully breeding animals does not equal game-win. It does, however, equal a steady supply of meat, wool, and hides. At least until someone on SMP lets a creeper blow a chunk out of your corral and let all your animals out.
Also, these features are coming on very, very rapidly. You can't possibly expect such early, pre-released features to be perfectly balanced right out the door. Get them out first, then you can worry about tweaking the details to make it feel just right.
Enjoy testing these early features. Some companies wouldn't let you do so as early as these guys do.
With the flying, can't you set the server to survival then make all of your OPs creative when they want to be?

This thread sorta reminds me of the time I was playing Diablo II, me and a friend were starting fresh characters, doing the very first quest in the game. Making our way out of the town, into the blood moor so we could find the Den of Evil.
Well, we were going through there all fine and dandy. SUDDENLY, in usual battle.net fashion, a huge lag spike occurs while we're fighting a large group of Fallen. Friend gets raped by the easiest to kill monsters in the entire game (in case you're a bit slow...it was Fallen that killed him). I managed to run away and drink a few potions before being killed. My buddy got mad, ragequitted, and went back to doing his MF (magic finding, aka boss farming) runs.

Installing mods means MOVING FILES! You can't tell me that there are people who managed to get Minecraft but are not able to move files. -.-
Well, in defense of those not computer savvy, even I've never had any real cause to venture into the Users directory of my C: drive before. I still use the shortcut button in Minecraft options to get there quickly. It's an unusual place for a game to install itself.
And a bit annoying since I prefer all my games to reside on my E: drive...
Guys, I'm going to quit the game also because above my action bar I have hearts and on the right side I have my food bar. Well when I make armor it puts the armor bar above my hearts but there is nothing to put above the food bar. ITS OFF BALANCE. IT IS GAME CHANGING AND I CAN'T HANDLE IT!!!

Flying--I assume there is still going to be a fly mod, just use that for your server :smile.gif:
I use chicken eggs to transport to new chicken farms, make cake, or just adding a few extra chickens!

I also agree that there should be a way on SMP for ops to fly without having unlimited blocks, but that is easily fixed by mods.
I disagree with your point regarding animal breeding. The point was to make animals easily renewable, and that's exactly what it does.
