Steve went into a dark cave after running away from something.
Ambience started playing.
He took out his lighter trying to get some light, but it wasn't working.
He then opened a book wanting to know what was chasing him.
He then noticed something...
He raised his lighter toward a direction in the dark, and attempts to turn it on 1 more time...
The lighter works, and in the light he finds himself staring into the eyes of... SOMETHING.
Steve starts running out of the cave, running for his life, running faster as SOMETHING was catching up.
Running across dirt blocks, he runs as quickly as he can, but he doesn't make it!
SOMETHING IS HAPPENING...
And it all stops there...
MY THEORY:
(A man is running in a cave, is tired. Lights his lighter, and takes out what I think is a journal, and writes/reads a bit of it while being chased. He heard the nearby music, and dropped his lighter as he fled, and nearly got out of the cave (you know how you have like 8 blocks of dirt before you hit stone from the surface) he just nearly got to the safety of the aboveground before he was pulled back, dropping the record and breaking it.)
I think that after discovering this record, spooky things should start happening. Including seeing strange blue lights, your torches popping off blocks, etc. Until you're the next victim.
Kinda like that video where if you watch it, you die a week later.
11- You hear a man is running deep in a mine, he gasps for air as he falls on one knee. He opens his backpack for his torch but only to hear the clicking of a dead battery. Coughing in pain he covers his mouth only to find blood pooling in his hand. He reaches for a lighter and his diary of his excavation of the mines and begins to write as grotesque sounds echo throughout the mines. He slowly rises and uses his lighter trying to see out of the pitch dark as a shadowy figure slowly starts creeping in his direction, he sees a way out of the mines and runs without hesitation, he sees moonlight and sprints entering a patch of gravel, the exit gets closer and closer, mere inches from freedom when he screams in terror as he sees a………the recorder stops, the static from the broken disc send you chills down your spine and yet you feel as if something has been watching you ever since you began listen to the broken disc.
I made this when i was watching the Yogscast 1.9 video on music disc this is what i imagine when i hear it.
I think notch is messing with us it's his avenge of humer to make it like cat.
Actualy I've noticed how all the herobrie stuff notch has thrown our way.
He constantly tells us oh he's gone but he denided it even after we could find the sprite, notch may not add herobrine agen but if he dose I won't be surprised I mean herobrine was a disapering torch glitch witch he then made a mob.
Herobrine was never in the game to begin with though. He was trolling us when he 'removed' it.
Though it'd be an interesting and rare addition to the game...
Things like this basically remind me of what I view minecraft as anyway(and why I enjoy endermen)
I picture minecraft as a...violent world. Minecraft doesn't want this new visitor, Steve, who shows no respect for the world, changing the landscape, killing animals, building more than a home out of necessity, but a castle out of pride. Challenging the land, and acting as if he ruled everything, continuing to destroy the beauty of the world, and messing with the balance of things.
I picture minecraft as ever changing. For instance--the different seeds. I picture all of the seeds as one world. No, not together in one humongous world, separated by oceans. There is only one world of minecraft, but it changes. We were not the first visitor. The last visitor to the world watched as endermen 'destroyed' the landscape. They took blocks and vanished. What he didn't see was the repositioning of blocks around the world. Creating new islands. Making a forest where a desert once was, making an ocean where a mountain was. These drastic changes are done slowly, constantly. We cannot understand what they are trying to do, that's why the changes look ugly and horrifying. We don't want OUR world to be changed. We feel we own this land. How dare they destroy the land we worked so hard to conquer.
So we fight. We fight using the tools we stole from the land itself. The land creates monsters to kill us at night. The world continues to fall apart around us. Eventually, as we are fighting for years, the world becomes more violent. Natural disasters like earthquakes wreck the land, causing giant ravines to split areas in two. Oceans pour into the cracks in the world. But within the deepest reaches of minecraft, there is danger. A danger the void fog warns of. New beasts, large monsters, that have yet to have been defeated. Maybe previous "steves" have fought them before. Maybe creating a fortress underground to battle and enslave the monsters(prison cells in strongholds)
Now all we find are their ruins, which are still being reconstructed. Lava pours into strongholds, trying to hide that there was once anything there. Hallways stop midway, rooms that have been destroyed--for they told too many secrets. We appeared too early. They weren't ready. Leftover pieces from the old world remain. Strongholds, chests, dungeons, even leftover pieces from old mountains that had not been reconstructed yet.(The weird looking mountains, that look unrealistic)
Maybe we are the same person and this is our personal hell. A new world we feel we can conquer that slowly devours us. We 'die', and are left with a sort of amnesia. Sometimes we awake quickly. Our world is still where we left it, our items are still available for us to pick up. But sometimes when we die, we sleep for years, and all is lost. The world is rebuilt. We awaken, everything we had created is gone, not that we remember it. We look around, in a new world, and we build again. Every time we get closer to the secrets, the world is rewritten. The more we go through this, the more we can see.(updates bringing new aspects to the world) Before, we slept for so long, the endermen were able to completely rewrite the world, and give us a space to let us 'try again'. Think the early days of alpha--when you spawned in a mysterious house. We had a space to live, and we could grow food. Of course we would simply live peacefully with the world. But we didn't. Eventually, they stopped giving us the home to live in. We wake up in the middle of nowhere, with absolutely nothing. Our first day is a struggle to survive, as we have our instinctual fear of night already, despite never having been attacked by monsters before. We know night=danger. We live for years, eventually growing pompous. We build grinders because we have learned how the monsters work. Monsters adapt. So do we. Eventually, the endermen no longer hide themselves, or wait for us to go into a deep sleep to rewrite our world. They cannot simply let this happen. They destroy our grinders right in front of our eyes. They start moving the world early. They know we will die soon, and we will forget everything.
Maybe 11 is a previous Steve, be it an older visitor, or a memory of our previous adventure. Maybe he learned something, he tried to record it. He was stopped. Perhaps Herobrine is the old steve, or a horribly corrupted shell of him. Maybe he is what the world has been trying to hide. Now we wonder, was the world hiding things from us to abuse and torture us, or to protect us from this greater evil? Were we stopped in our tracks because we anger the world with our creations, or because we are drawing too much attention to ourselves, bringing evil closer to us. Clearly we have a connection to dark worlds. We have created a portal to the Nether. We are able to survive in that hellish place. But is it really such a good idea to explore and mock evil, when there are things we don't even understand in this world?
It's spooky! I like doing things like this. Even silly things like just simple updates can be fun to explain as something that was perhaps there all along, but was hidden.. :laugh.gif: Cheesy maybe, but fun.
To be honest, it could be anything, but until we know, it's fun to come up with stories!
Wow... just wow! That was one of the best writings I have ever heard, amazing! You are perhaps one of the best writers I have heard!

I am now going to stare mindlessly in Geometry Class fantasizing a whole storyline based on that idea.
Hell, I did that with a few good RP servers :|

This is where you would have found a signature, which you have, so congrats.
11 is a clue it a hint the vast world of mincraft is changing it goes from friendship to a servival to a adventure game I thought I would hate the hunger bar a used to never eat I would never have to no it's not that bad a time may come when herobrine is re added heck I'd love it if I could play alpha agen but as the world moves we do to so relax and enjoy what is minecraft
Its taken from marble hornets on youtube. just slightly modified to fit minecraft.
FOR EXAMPLE:
I beleive its entry 18 where the victim tries to take a video of slenderman in his house but he coughs.. next thing you know hes right behind the victim.
its beleived its slendermen chasing steve :-) but notch still keeps his lips sealed. leaving every possibility open
I think it's obvious now that it's a clear reference to Marble Hornets. Notch is a BIG fan of the Slender Man phenomenon. I don't really think it means anything; I think it COULD in the future, but for now, it's just a nifty easter egg.
ok, so let me see if i can get the actions that are occurring by the sounds. So first let me say that the sounds of of digging are always fallowed by a louder version of the noise, and the sound of what many are saying is bones is more likely the sound of flint and steel. Now that I have made the first two statements I will try and walk though what happens.
-The man, or women, is walking (the clicks you hear are from walking on stone) in a cave of some sort.
-He starts to swim through some water
-He gets to a dry spot, he then tries to light a fire with flint and steel (more then once) to warm himself.
-He coughs from the fire, starts to relax.
-He pulls out what could be a book and flips though the pages, but he is startled by something
-He runs faster and faster, he finally gets out to dirt and grass.
-But there is something waiting for him there and you hear something right before it cuts out to nothing
A new monster, an untold story, or something else?
Anyways that is what I got out of what I heard I based it on sounds in the game and real life.
I don't think its endermen because it would have more pausing moments. I know it's not a marble hornets Easter egg because there was no distortion.
I simply think it's just a spooky file meant to spoof things like the Blair Witch project. There is no depth to it, it only means what you THINK it means.

Maybe, just maybe he is turning into Herobrine.

"I can see a beautiful sunset rendering in the distance."
1. Guy goes to nether.
2. Looks at his map, lights netherack.
3. creepy stuff starts happening.
4. Lights netherack again.
5. Herobrine appears.
6. Runs like hell.
7 Goes through portal.
8. Turns around, he's still there
9. Runs again.
10. HEROBR-
11. tape cuts out
It sounds more like the persuer yelling in his monster voice "HEURURERUR"
EDIT: Dammit the comment is gone. Well, that goes for all the people who think it says HEROBRI-
:tongue.gif:

Like others said I also heard angry wolf noises near the end.
It's a huge phenomenon...this 11. Eventually I hope Notch, Jeb, or C418 tells us the inspiration behind it and what they were hinting at.
