god my decepticon mad scientist in me is drooling. I really want to play with this chemestry set.

Nah, it's all good, if his friend doesn't want to then do....I'm just going against what I said so people over the internet don't hate me

I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success....Such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything.
YES! FINALLY!!! I can now start working on the code.
But how did you get the unobfuscated names so easily?
I made up the unobfuscated names for all of them (except Block).
Anyway, I'm having problems recompiling the obfuscated Block.class, so I might just add the block cauldron declaration to the qj.class (BiomeGenOcean.class). I'll tell you guys how it goes.
Have alchemists at work in the labs being stocked by legions of soldiers gathering the harder materials, keeping them fed and healthy as they work and toil away in order to save the kingdom! omg so epic, I don't think Jens can change this at all, it's just so much potential in emergent roleplaying!
And not only roleplaying, but actual, practical use of it as well.
Just think of the applications of an invisibility potion, or a potion that grants a speed boost and a jumping boost.
Note to self: See if I can make an invincibility potion. It should be possible, right? SOme kind of combination of ghast tears and some other healing ingredient.
Dude just post the files, your friend is being selfish if he doesn't want it given out. Plus if he gets angry at you over a game, maybe he shouldn't be your friend.
It's not that I think he's going to get mad or even say no, I just think it's a courtesy. To be fair people waiting a day or two to get this, or going and writing the code themselves wouldn't be a huge deal, if the information was life saving or something obviously I'd just release it, heh.
Ok, so I looked through pre-release #2's code to figure out how to add the cauldron. It looks pretty simple. Basically, you need to decompile and open up the mq.class (Block.class), and add a line that adds the new Cauldron block. Here are the relevant class files:
"Potion combos seem to literally, number in over the 9,000 range."
I'm going to guess that that's one of the reasons it isn't incorporated yet. I hope they lower that number dramatically.
I don't think you understand the concept of these potions. It's not that there is a "Health Potion 1", "Speed Potion 1", etc etc with a set recipe like most games, IE you need spider eyes and sugar with water and you get "Strength Potion". With this one adding ingredients changes effects, so there are no "preset" potions. Its procedurally generated like the land.

It's not actually procedurally generated either it just uses a very complex bit combination system, basically there are what equates to nearly unlimited combos of potions, yet they'll always remain the same unless they change the math. Certainly would be an interesting concept, perhaps they might even change the numbers from time to time to force everyone to invent new potion recipes(an interesting idea at least.)
More then likely though, it will just stay static.

oh man, that is a total dickmove, it'd be like changing the laws of physics in the world some day >_< though it'd be neat if in hardcore mode it'd be able to modify it for each game xD

Yeah true, I was trying to point out that its not presets like, for example, Runescape has.
Sounds like it could be another interesting timesink. Kind of like the people that spend 100 hours designing a redstone machine, now they can take 100hours to find a potion with tier 5 effects of everything, and no negatives.
I really hope we can use potions to poison stuff. Would potentially lead to incredibly varied pvp, as you quaff your good potion and poison them with a bad one.

No real reason to reply to me, I rarely check topics more than once. I don't care what you say anyway.
Well, this is turning out to be very interesting. When someone does get this out, man is it going to be fun. I was looking at the code earlier, but Obfuscated code + Java Noob = :huh.gif:
So, yeah...
Apparently I am going to have to look up some Block making tutorials, since I am having trouble getting the cauldron to show up in Too Many Items. I'll keep trying though!

why?
Awwww, but I want to be a phallus... AWKWARD

That sounds like a great idea. You're just going to have to put a lot of mushrooms in for it to be balanced though.

Patience is a virtue.
I was on the right track then, figured there had to be a file about the block its self, but the obfuscated names make it extremely hard.

Dunno, just someone I know online, he got off earlier, heh. I'm just gonna ask him when I see him hop on, unless someone else makes a mod first.

Nah JK. I don't think that is possible.
But invincibility might be... It would just be so stupidly expensive and would have so many negative side effects that it wouldn't be worth it.
