I don't care that you don't agree with me. I care that you actually just stated what you thought instead of just going, "Who cares just don't choose hardcore!"
On the forums I found like 20 posts on Hardcore mode, then it was on the front page, so I decided to check it out. In case you didn't know, hardcore mode is where you play until you die and when you die, your forced to delete your world. I also think your required to play on Easy, Normal or Hard. So what do you guys think?
No, i don't think Minecraft is hard at all. I have my server set to hard and always play on hard in my SP worlds. This is not because i am some Minecraft god, not at all... just that i find Minecraft to be very easy overall... i mean once you get a house up and some supplies going then dying can become a rare occurrence unless you are prone to walking off cliffs.
I will add, as of 1.9 PR 2... i did die from an Enderman as i assumed they would be just as easy as always... Rather than rage i was quite happy as i see this as a step in the right direction.
Well also another thing I'm trying to say is, what if you come out of a cave, you see it's night, you have Diamond, and then there are 2 creepers, 2 endermen and 3 zombies......You basically are either forced to go on peaceful or delete your world.

You're locked to hard on hardcore, so cheating by going peaceful is not an option. Your best chance at survival would probably be to run back into the cave and dig another way out.
I've been playing hardcore mode all day. It makes combat with mobs a bit more intense because you know if you die all of your hard work is down the drain. But the mobs are still stupid and fairly easy to kill in most circumstances. All in all, I'd much rather better mob A.I.

Now in MY opinion, it isn't too hard because people choose if they wish to do this hardcore mode (I do not) and its for those who want an extra 'challenge' in their game, much like how MANY people already do by manually deleting their world, so basically Mojang just added something people already do into the game.
Yes it is insane. But no it's not too hard. Nothing is too hard for hardcore. Hardcore isn't a regular minecraft game, hardcore is a test of your skill and cleverness. You have to be smart, be careful, and don't leave your door open!
It is not for everyone, but it is for those looking for a real, serious challenge. In this kind of game, don't get attached to your world, but be amazed you lived this long after you die!
The reason it is NOT going to far is this: Notch DID NOT take away regular survival mode, and he did not take away peaceful, easy, normal, or hard on that mode.
Hardcore mode is just hard difficulty setting where you delete your world when you die. If you want the same level of difficulty without world deletion, play survival on hard! :smile.gif:

There is really no way to take a thread with such a title seriously. Either this is a joke or someone doesn't understand that Hardcore was supposed to be more difficult.
I don't mean to be rude but I mean, Your saying you think it's not insane to delete your world, with all your progress just because you may have forgotten to close the door.

it's not that hard to stay alive in minecraft, be aware of your surroundings and close the damn doors. lmfao HARDcore as others said is not meant for people who can't remember to close doors, simple as that, if you can't close a door play on ANY other difficulty, even hard if you want, it's the same except less impressive.

Read up on the history of hardcore mode. It wouldn't be hardcore unless there was permanent death.
