i was just wondering since 1.8 just came out,why is there already 1.9 discussion and 1.9pre...

1.9 has been 'pre-released', basically to let people beta test unfinished parts of the update. There will be a second pre-release later this week with updated features, but I don't know when 1.9 will officially come out!

So if you want to risk a buggy minecraft experience, the pre-release is available now, or you can wait til the update is finished. :smile.gif:

No certainty on release dates, but Notch or Jeb (can't remember which) mentioned it was possible there will be a second pre-release of 1.9 sometime this week.
