The post should only attach to the side you click so that if you dont want it to attach to the wall (like if its a lamp post) it wont. but other than that it will make it better over all. I had a few design issues with this very problem.
Been posted before, but nobody really commented on it. I personally love it, I hated how they didn't attach to other blocks, made them look considerably faker than normal.
wouldn't mind being able to attach fences to the edge of blocks, ala doors, so that one can move right up to a railing and look over. right now a fence (when used as a railing) makes it difficult to do that because it keeps a player a whole block away from the edge and obscures their view something fierce.

Seems fine to me . . . depends though . . does the attached block become as tall as a fence?

IMO, great idea. And they should make just regular posts for those that want something like lampposts.
Using fence for lamp posts is just a silly workaround in the first place.
Apparently, they will attach themselves to other solid blocks. Not just fences, but everything.
Do you like this change, or not? If so, why?
OMG JEB IS RUINING MINECRAFT!
Technically OP was first, you are second. Why would it even matter? lol
Jeb is just an update machine. I will adapt to any changes put forward.

%100 agreed. I hate that.
