MoCreatures mod. Nuff said.
Cow breeding by eggs = ridiculous, dumb, and not even that entertaining from a gameplay perspective. It is simply too simple. Games gain replayability by some basic level of complexity and depth, not by "PLOP cow drops an egg", *throws egg*, "PLOPP new cow"...
Eggs are too simple? Compared to what? Put animals in love mode and suddenly there's another animal? To compare the two, eggs are slightly more difficult. You don't just feed two animals and have a third. You have to gather the eggs and take the time to hatch them. So, by your own logic you should prefer eggs over the more likely option of them just making another animal.
I still hope he really decides to go with eggs. That way I can set up a farm by my base and not have to worry about how I'm going to get animals there from far away.

That's one of the big reasons I like eggs as well, being able to transport animals where they would otherwise not be - such as a tiny island in the middle of an ocean, the middle of a huge desert, a city under the sea or deep under the earth.
Go eggs!

More Ocean Life: Kelp, Coral, Crabs and Jellyfish; Coconut Palm trees for beaches and islands. Terrain Generation Changes: Which biomes and world-building features are most in need of change?
If you hold food in your hand, they follow you around. If you feed them, they enter "love mode". Two animals in love mode = babies.
And what your complaining about You know what would be fun? If every single animal in minecraft came from eggs. Breeding would involve moving egg blocks around.
I actually like this idea a lot. This would give us a way to store animals until we needed them, rather than have too many animals crowd up a pasture.
Very nice! The OP is either a troll or I dunno... animals laying eggs has to be the "craziest" thing since zombies dropping feathers. I mean c'mon, everything in this game is crazy/silly. Why don't people get that?
And why does something silly/weird = kids? I think we have some 16-18 year olds who think they are mature because they don't like "kids" stuff when complaining on a forum about "silly kids stuff" is much, much, much more immature. I've noticed this trend lately, anyone else?
Ok I would first like to state that I am NOT one of the common whiners on here. I have been very accepting of all the changes that have come to minecraft. I like the Endermen, I sorta like the villagers, (though they could do with a nose job. <.< ) I like the nether dungeons, the ravines, the new bioms (though the swamp needs a bit of tweaking with its boarders)I love the mine shafts, and the food bar. (and anything else I may have missed) I welcome it all into minecraft as if it were a part of the game from the beginning.
But animal eggs? Common, that has got to be the stupidest thing I have ever heard any one say EVER its like the thought process of a five year old came up with that idea. I mean, what the hell? I among many others are/ were looking forward to animal breeding, the type that actually happens in real life. Not this abomination of a lazy excuse.
it- its beyond stupid! Why would such an idea ever exist? What are you on Notch? You're screwing over your fan base one person at a time.
I know that it's a beta, and that there is a lot of testing going on, but if this is integrated into the game, and becomes a permanent feature I'll be staying in 1.7
My mind has been blown 10fold from the stupidity escaping Notches mouth. Hell I don't even see him as the developer of this game anymore.
Don't like my opinion? tough.
GAH there is no other way for me to explain that animal egg thing in any other way other then calling it out right as a stupid idea.
i dont like the eggs, i'll die of starvation and have no fun
Walking skeletons shooting arrows at you? Undead guys damaging you by bumping into you? Giant green exploding abominations? Teleporting tall guys? Giant spiders? Reed that can be turned into paper AND sugar? Natural halloween pumpkins? Carrying hundreds of tons of rock without a backpack? Floating blocks? Destroying trees with your bare hands? Up to four full-grown chickens coming out of an egg that was thrown at a wall? every nether content? Hostile creatures popping into existence out of NOWHERE during nighttime? Giant mushrooms? Mushrooms cows that give you mushrooms stew instead of milk? Every single cow giving you milk at any given time? Killed chickens give you perfect chicken flesh without having to skin them? Dead things dissapearing into nowhere? Carrying around buckets of lava with your bare hands? Continuously jumping cows, chickens and pigs? Satying underground for ages without needing oxygen supplies? Giant moving jell-o's? Infinitely burning torches? Being able to create wooden planks with your bare hands? Instantly growing plants with bone meal, unlike the way a normal fertilizer works? Rain without the necessary clouds? Not being able to place a sign at a height of 64 metres from the sea-level?
Yes, I totally follow your drift of eggs not being realistic in minecraft.
Now I'll feel guilty when making cakes because chickens already lay eggs and I'll be killing a baby chick :sad.gif: But on the other hand, eggs are pretty cool. I want a pig egg. And on the other other hand, When will he make scrambled eggs? I remember on 1.2 when I first got minecraft I put an egg in a furnace and expected a scrambled egg. :tongue.gif:

It's lazy and unimaginative.
Notch only has one ass cheek for you guys to kiss, because he's using the other to half ass everything in Minecraft.
PlanetSide 2 Megathread because why not?
"Sheep..come from..eggs?"
Hehe, saw this gif, thought of this thread. :laugh.gif:

Hmm. So. Do you have to feed them every time you want them to breed, or do they stay in that "mode" once fed?
If so: not happy.
Mob traps were a fun bit of emergent gameplay, but if they can't get a constant supply of passive mobs anymore, then that's shot.
Now that would have been awesome! And animal humping does not qualify as porn or obscenity unless Steve would join in.

And MooShrooms, EXPLAIN THAT ****!
But in the meantime:
ಠ_ಠ
K, I'll say it then
*young child gets a new animal*
technically all animals come out of eggs anyway. just mammals hatch in the womb. thats all I have to say.
This must be the dumbest thing ever added to Minecraft (not yet, but it will, sadly).
You'll usually find me in the General Off Topic section. Also quote when you reply so I can see!
