I haven't played 1.8 yet. But based on what I have played, I do feel like Minecraft's potential isn't really being tapped. Even jokes need a balanced foundation to work. I would like to see more cohesion between all the elements of the game. Right now it feels a little . . . blocky. damn it. Okay, so there's copouts for any "artistic criticism" you could give Minecraft. I'm not really going to attempt any. I'm sure the game will only improve over time. Notch obviously gets plenty of free feedback when he messes up. :smile.gif:

I hate this thread so much. I think we should remove the 1.9 discussion threads if people are just gonna make threads whining. I remember a time when people couldn't wait for 1.8, but now everyone hates it just because you need food that's easy as hell to get.

The reason why people hate it, I love it, is cause you have to work to survive in survival instead of just creating. If only there was some kind of mode that you could focus only on creating :dry.gif: .
Minecraft isn't your game. It's not "the people's" game either. It's Notch's game. In the end, it will only be what he wants it to be.
I'm not a huge fan of some of the changes, but at least I can see reality. And having 10 or 20 people, out of 3+ million purchasers, complain about something on a forum that Notch doesn't even read isn't going to change anything.

It is a fact that the majority of the purchases were made before the information given for 1.8 and 1.9. With knowing that we can assume that those purchasers had no knowledge of MC becoming what it is.
And with that, it is also a fact that the majority of them dont keep themselves as informed as we do. I'm willing to bet that if you showed every single purchaser the direction that MC is going in, that it would be pretty much 50/50. But what, 1.75 mil people have to be disappointed? That's the part im talking about.
Yes, all those numbers are assumed, but after reading these forums i've seen that the opinions are about 50/50, and i think the general populous would be about the same. So, why add something that would disappoint so many when it's so foreign to the game that they've grown fond of?

Um... I agree to some extent. When i first saw 1.9 i thought "you've got to be kidding me". It seems like an addition to mocreepsandwierdos than an actual update. But... again its minecraft, and its a pre-release. So that doesnt mean its necessarily final. But i will be a little bummed if it stays like this... But well get over it.
I don't think I've ever seen a positive post from this particular user, I've seen three specific that was nothing more than saying 'why is it like this instead of this', never anything about good points that have come out. I won't say 'Oh wow stop complaining', but if a game makes you so amazingly unhappy as it obviously must for you to take the time out to say how much you dislike it.. whya re you here? Go be with something that does make you happy.

I don't really mind what notch adds, as long it has the same creative feeling, and plus if you don't like the NPCs just turn them off, and since snow golems don't spawn naturally you don't need to worry about them, How about you try programming a game as successful as minecraft?
