I think for me the biggest problem is: why is the player the ONLY human in existence?
If notch made testificate the villagers, then by all means turn the player into testificate and continue to **** up everything...
Btw, not all of us bought the game for silliness... I personally bought the game because THE WORLD NEVER ENDS, and I get the challenge of survival, and i get to change the world before my very eyes, and i get to craft tools out of ****in diamonds to fend for myself. No other game offers that kind of expandability...
Edit: the way i see it, the game should have a stong core objective that allows people to enhance it even more, instead of making muppets and mooshrooms standard...
Had i known that the game would be centered around muppets and mooshrooms, i would've seriously leaned towards not buying the game.

How is it centered on them? Mooshrooms are confinfined to islands out in the middle of the ocean. That is hardly having the game revolve around them. And the game does not revolve around villagers. We get by perfectly fine without them, and you will continue to be able to get buy without the villagers. Or ue one of the texture packs that makes them look more human. If the visual design of the villagers is really enough to destroy the game for you, that is rather shallow.
It always has been a joke. This isn't professional flight simulator software used to train airline pilots or a NASA program to calculate burn time for the ISS to correct its orbit. It's a stupid game. And as for things not fitting into the theme, exactly what theme would that be?
Creepers, a hell-like dimension, skeletons that ride spiders, stupid cow with mushrooms growing out of, what's the common thread in any of that? Exactly what `theme' do you believe the game has?

The design of the villagers doesnt directly make me discredit MC, however the direction that we are seeing notch go with mooshrooms and villagers is only downhill. Dont get me wrong, i want infected areas and villages to trade with, but i dont want it done in a way that says "hey, i though it would be funny if i added this, so i did" or "hey, today is the anniversary of the muppets, so im going to put these NPC's in for the rest of it's existence, or maybe alter their appearance slightly way later in development"
Too many "thought it would be fun" and not enough "this is what the people wanted"
Strange. I was just talking to my friend yesterday. He asked me if minecraft was a waste of money because it's becoming a joke, I responded saying that the only good part about purchasing it, was the mods. Once they become supported, doubt anyone will stick to Notch's joke of a game.
I have a feeling that that's why Notch is dragging his feet with a mod API...
The same source as the tweet you idiot.
How many times do people have to say this before you git it through your thick skull

You call me an idiot and you try to explain to me that this twitter post means that Notch was joking. Not once did he confirm that this was a joke. Not once did he confirm it wasn't a joke. However it's on the table until Notch says something more specific about it. Maybe you should go back to school with your little friend.
Ever thought maybe his 1st language isn't English, you give a bad name to Americans, but that's what you NJ idiots do. .
If you honestly believe Jersey Shore is anything like New Jersey, then you're very ignorant. You're the one who gives a bad name to Americans by sitting on the couch watching tv and judging everything you see or hear.
I think there is a little too much humor going to be present in minecraft when 1.9 comes out. I don't believe Notch is taking it seriously what-so-ever and it's just going to kill my experience in minecraft, a game which had much potential and respect. Instead of convincing people to buy the game now, I'm telling them to wait because I don't feel Notch is at the right state of mind at the moment. Humor is appreciated but not so much as in to ruining the general quality of the game.
I happen to disagree with pretty much everything you've said. Mainly because for as long as I've played Minecraft, starting way back in alpha just after the Halloween update, the game has NEVER taken itself seriously. Ever. In fact, the only thing that would ruin the experience for me was if Notch and Jens didn't add these little humorous and silly features.
But if that doesn't convince you, then all I can say is wait until the game is out of beta before complaining about it. The guys are putting in stuff, letting us try it out, tweaking, etc. Nothing is set in stone yet, and even after it comes out of beta there will be updates. Yes, feedback is good, but your arguments don't really stand up to scrutiny. If all you want to say is "I want Minecraft to take itself more seriously." then just say that. I doubt anything will be changed because if it, that isn't what Minecraft is about.

I've never seen Jersey Shore in my life, nor any of those retarded shows, going by the things you say, you ignore people's posts and claiming everyone supports you, AND insulting others English when there is a chance it is not their primary name, I can honestly say you give American's a bad name and by extension you give NJ a bad name.
Npc villages/mineshafts already ruined the experience for me taking away that 'castaway trying to survive' feeling. The only reason I tolerate mineshafts is because their small tight spaces pose a challanging threat that something might be just around that 1 block corner.
I've never liked that whole "all alone" feeling. You're not a castaway on a small island, you're in a potentially massive world, and the only living person or sign of humanoid life in the entire place is you, skeletons, and zombies? I much prefer the current incarnation. I haven't explored enough yet to find a village or an abandoned mineshaft (waiting for a few things to be changed before I wander too far from home), but knowing they're out there, that I'm not the only person any more, just makes it better for me.
Too many "thought it would be fun" and not enough "this is what the people wanted"
Minecraft isn't your game. It's not "the people's" game either. It's Notch's game. In the end, it will only be what he wants it to be.
I'm not a huge fan of some of the changes, but at least I can see reality. And having 10 or 20 people, out of 3+ million purchasers, complain about something on a forum that Notch doesn't even read isn't going to change anything.

I always liked to think of it as the last survivor.
Can anyone please explain to this person what evidence is? This is not evidence! This is not fact! Also to top it off, "babies" was mentioned before the egg idea. Man you're like a .

Actually it does end...it's just so HUGE!
lol fair enough. Even so, you can simply generate a new seed and there you go again! :tongue.gif:

Anyway, I think villages of non-human creatures are more original, and this is just my opinion.

Please, if you don't like it go to alpha or something please.
Or make a mod.
Or make their skin invisible.
Anything please.
Like you who's assuming that I'm an American.
