I agree with the OP completely. 1.8 & 1.9 have nearly killed the game for me.... but I think it's mainly because it appeals to the really young kids and well... that's what Minecraft's player base consists of mostly.
I personally don't like the direction it's heading... too stupid and easy. I liked the old Survival Mode. I just like the new 1.8,9 biomes and terrain :sad.gif:
Okay, everything from eggs is a terrible idea. But a ghost egg omelet would be interesting. Maybe a mooshroom egg. Let's just be glad we don't hatch from eggs...
The hilarity of minecraft is one of the main reasons I play it.
I find that hard to believe. The only funny parts of minecraft are most likely from events, but not the actual item/block/mob itself. A person laughing 24/7 while playing minecraft is just a .
Every heard of a saying, "Every vote counts"? Not saying my voice has great value, but at least I spoke up.
You're welcome to speak up. It improves things, I agree. But don't complain. Turn the negative statements into positive statements. "This sucks" doesn't help as much as "This could be improved by..."
Moving away from antagonistic responses might get you farther. I get that many people will bash others on the internet, but turning around and acting just as childish as them doesn't improve the situation. You weren't really speaking up as much as you were lashing out.
I hope you understand that I'm not insulting you. I was using sarcasm in the hopes to show that you should reconsider what you were saying.
I agree with OP, even if his post seems a bit centered around baby animals.
The problem is though, Notch never said what MC was ultimately going to be like. Almost nothing in the game at current time, has any realism to it at all. And much of it just plain doesn't make sense and acts like it's from a Dr. Seuss novel.
So while some of us would like a deeper experience from the game, we'll just have to wait for someone else to make it.

I don't think the NPC's are silly.
They look like they are an ancient race of nomads. Which would make sense and fit with minecraft perfectly. They are a mysterious race, in a mysterious world, that you mysteriously appeared in! There is a hell, Zombies, Exploding creepers, Skeletons, Abandoned mines, Abandoned Ruins (Strongholds). The entire game is based around mysticism, exploration, and the unknown! Accept it, or gtfo sir.
There really is no 'theme' of Minecraft. I don't know what these posts are going on about. I have literally enjoyed every single addition that they have made to the game so far (except changing how the Endermen look - I liked the original, but hardly a big deal). I hope they continue to be as creative.
I have yet to find a use for snow golums yet, though. Since they deal 0 damage, they kind of just run around, throwing snowballs until an enemy finishes them off.

Going off on a tangent, but if you trap them around your house, they'll be useful to push hostile mobs away.

What I have is two a small distance on either side away from the stairs up to the door of my base. They're on platforms two fence posts up and fenced in so they can't jump off (the platforms are 3x3 with glowstone in the middle). They seem to act as a decent creeper deterrent...the creepers get hit, and go aggro on 'em, but they can't actually get close enough to explode and end up hanging around under the snow golem's platform until I either pick them off or they despawn...I've tested it, after they get hit they pretty much ignore me. They could potentially get hit by skeletons, but so far it seems like the skeletons have trouble hitting them (maybe because of the one and a half block high fencing).
Minecraft is still the same game as always, even with these new additions. Those NPC's are a demonstration, which is the meaning of testificate. Stop complaining on how lazy notch is because he is far from lazy.

Thank you so much! Can you work on fixing the economy next?
It's just you.

I think you are referring to Kentucky, dumb@$$
... I think I'll just ride a pig, then. Giddyup, Potbelly!
