This isn't a large complain. Floating blocks just look out of place. Imagine trees spawning in a way that they're cut in half with some blocks of wood floating randomly. It isn't aesthetically pleasing.
Beyond that their density ruins any joy you experience from finding them. It also makes mining obsolete as they'll have many more diamonds.
That's actually pretty sweet. While they're all disconnected, they still move in a straight line. I would try to re-connect them all and re-form the abandoned mine!
I wish I had a mine in a ravine! That being said, there's a whole infinite world to explore, if you find an abandoned mine shaft in a ravine, go find one that isn't!

lol so far every mineshaft i find goes through a ravine, in fact i specifically look in ravines to look for mineshafts, lol :tongue.gif:
Perhaps a flooring could be added to the generated mineshafts, I'm not really familiar with the coding for how they are currently generated, but the fact that caverns and ravines cut through mineshafts certainly does bother me.

In a way I can see your point. But, by that same logic. I guess they should do away with floating islands too? They don't make sense either, right? The chaos and randomness of the world generation is what makes Minecraft interesting. I mean really, if every mine was perfect and exactly the same. What would be the point in exploring them at all? I like Minecraft's oddities. It's what makes the game appealing IMO.

The difference between the landscape and the mine-shafts is that one is natural and the other is not. Nature can create some ****in' crazy stuff, but if someone takes the time to make a mineshaft, it will have order/design/meaning, otherwise there is no logic to why it was made the way it is, with all of the cross-sections and floating wood.
Game's been paid for, we shouldn't have to suffer from half assed features.
Then don't install the prerelease updates.
Also: This isn't "suffering from half-assed features," okay? This is testing, not playing. If you want a complete game, play one. If you didn't want an incomplete game, why did you pay for the EXPLICIT PRIVELEGE OF PLAYING AN INCOMPLETE GAME?

LOL.
The 1.8.1 official release is half assed.
It doesn't even work on my computer.
No one bought beta, they bought the game as is. When I bought the game, it was at least working.
When have you actually paid for a beta. btw? Such a dumb argument. I paid for a game, and the subsequent updates were icing on the cake. Well that icing is pretty shitty when they are half assed updates. Kinda goes against what I bought.
Think about how dumb you sound, to tell me what I should think about something I paid hard earned money for.

"No one bought beta?" Really? Because last I checked the website said "25% off during Beta, prepurchase now!"
Think about how dumb you sound, to not be able to read.
Edit: Also, if you think awkward mineshaft generation is a "not working" game, you've obviously never played Superman 64.
Yeah, it's a little odd to pay for beta, but at least a million dollars worth of people have done so, and I bet you most of them actually read the word "beta" in the title of the game they were buying. Maybe we're stupid, or maybe, just maybe, this is a decent business model and some people enjoy playing unfinished games.
You're evidently not one of them, and thus not the target audience. I'm not telling you how to think, just giving you the facts.
I believe the OP is complaining about the mine supports floating, not the chasm being in the mine or filled with lava, as some have suggested. If so, this is a legitimate complaint but I'm sure Mojang is already aware of it.

:sleep.gif: lol
Over a 15 chunk area in my 1.82 generated maps, and in 1.9 maps they were averaging about 3-4 abandoned mines, and 4-6 ravines..
And when these 2 new features intersect eachother, its just a big ugly looking mess.
