Question. Who the hell would want to be blind? Or weakness?
That's what I was wondering when I first read about those potions. Only thing I can think of is that when you make a potion for the first time in the release you won't know what's in it. That or you can break it on someone/something and blind it. Fill its eyes with shattered glass!!! And well, blindness potions heheh.
Fun fact you can breed normal cows and mooshrooms, and get either a baby cow or a baby mooshroom, I can't tell if its random or if one reaches the other first or something.
Also regarding potions being negative effect, this is already in muh thread.
[05:02] <Satharis> jeb if you don't mind me asking, is there any plan to umm.. weaponize potions somehow? or are the negative effects just to hurt the user in exchange for the buff?
[05:02] <Satharis> that's been kind of a point of contempt
[05:03] <+jeb> the initial idea of the negative buffs was simply to make it harder to create a "clean" potion
[05:03] <+jeb> but in the long term these potions could be used for other things
Been that way a while sir! I can honestly say, dragging 2 mooshrooms across an ocean to trap them in room with some carts was the most boring thing i have ever done in minecraft. They're tied with chickens as the most useful mob. (Mushroom soup milking and cow-drops+ are equivalent to egg throwing=full grown chickens.)
the "save-all" command in 1.9_pre3 server is still broken, along with "stop". Neither commands actually save the map, which may cause data loss.

I have seen people complain about notch adding potions to the game but I guess no one has thought of this, with this capability in the program, Mobs can now spell cast/cause effects these potions create. This could also lead to a mage/wizard like character in the game. Also Notch if you see this...Add some horns to the sheep (you could use your cow horns) and suddenly you have mountain goats/rams, animation and ai could be kept the same as sheep. I think all the new goodies are getting great. my only complaint is that with so many releases I am having to wait on modding and writing my book about Minecraft.
i thought someone had already figure out the code to the words. It was some language used from some movie. I am trying to find a link to someone who had deciphered it.
I can confirm that redstone lengthens the time of a potion (possibly lowering effectiveness) and glowstone reduces time but increases the effect of it ie: swiftness potion 1 3.00min + glowstone = swiftness potion 2 1.30min
hey has anyone who is running the 1.9 prerelease server 3 noticed that when the game starts up that it says preparing lvl 2? I have no idea what this means or what it will mean its just that i find it weird how it would say that.

Akward potion should be added to the Unknown Potions section.
water + Nether Wart = Akward Potion (no effects)
The name to me sounds like "aqua"(meaning water) and "wart".
The name sounds more like Awkward to me. It's a nice coincidence, but it doesn't mean anything. You can make lots of different Awkward potions with different ingredients and they will have different effects.

Sorry if these have already been asked, didn't feel like reading through 63 pages to check...Where can we find the "Ender goo" and how do you collect it? is it in random locations or do we have to cheat?

it doesn't exist.
you can't see it, you have to cheat, and it doesn't serve any purpose yet.

I like the observation, but I think that could be a bug. Since it's dealing with 2 different skins/drops/and the whole growing up thing.
farm mushrooms?

Yeah, I thought it might be a little borderline, but with so many semi-complete systems in this pre-release I thought it might merit a mention anyway.
Oh, has anyone mentioned that thrown eggs result in full-grown chickens still? (I hope this never changes)
Keep up the good work!

Ahh right on, thanks.
It's said that since 1.6. It's the Nether.

It's the Standard Galactic Alphabet from the Captain Keen series. Decoder link: http://www.omniglot.com/writing/sga.htm
"Underside has a stone texture."
It is infact the grass texture without any biome colouring.
