I can't get 1.9 to work. I did the same thing with the 1.8 prelease (Replacing the .minecraft that I'm using and putting the prelease in it's place.) , why is it doing this? Second time this has happened... :dry.gif: Diamonds to the one who helps (No I'm not bribing, I'm wanting to play the prelease REALLY bad.) !
I've been playing 1.9 Pre-3 since it came out, and thru all the testing I have done, I can't seem to find any effects of enchanting items (my first enchant was 15 levels on a Diamond Sword.) Does anyone know where I can find any of the effects, if there even is any. Or is it right now just for pure show and testing?
Also, I think the reduced damage on weapons is a nice addition. It makes survival that much more of a challenge, and much more fun. The instant I saw that Hardcore Mode button I sprang forth onto it the moment I saw it. I've gone a whole week without dying. Though I have had a few close run ins with death, I just keep trucking on!
Plus, getting 2 shotted by bows and diamond swords just plain sucks PvP wise. I think the damage nerfing was more intended to make PvP more balanced against other players. But I'm not complaining or making any assumptions just yet.
P.S. I have played Minecraft for over a year and never installed a single mod or hack. So all you people who are whining, and have access to such things. Just... just give up...

If you were to read some of the other, oh, 20 pages about 1.9 pre 3, you would see that no, enchanting does jack diddly.
And about your little flame...
I don't install mods, I simply put on my big-boy pants and make my own. so hush up.

I really didn't ask if you used or make mods. I simply put out that I disagree in the use of them, for in my opinion they devalue the true aspect of the game, but if stating that makes you feel more like a man, have at it then. :dry.gif:
I replaced the original java file with the prerelease 3 one and now whenever i try to open minecraft the progress bar makes it to like 90% and says done loading but it freezes. Can anyone help me?
By the way, I don't think swords and bows have been nerfed. I think all enemies have more health or have armor or something... do you recall animals taking more hits? Seems like one stone sword hit still kills a chicken.
Dunno if this was already mentioned, but Air Portal Frame blocks melt snow and ice.
They effect a 4x4 diagonal field at the layer they are placed on. 3x3 the layer below the one they are placed on and 2x2 the layer above the layer they are placed on.
Yeah, they have the same light radius of 15 that glowstone has. It is a pity that those blocks have already been replaced with http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/36/newblock.png these as I would have really liked a different light source block to play with texture wise, but these are pretty cool looking and make it easier to understand to the player that the Eye of the Ender item is needed to "fix" them. I am curious if they still give off light though and can be oriented so that the "eye" is facing on the side..
Also, here is a reupload of The End video with the gamma turned way up, hell yes Enderdragon.
The ground looks kinda sponge-y, considering how endermen hate water, I wonder if this means we may get a survival version of sponge back... (unlikely but I thought I would throw that out there)

I don't think so. You hear around 2 footsteps (although the player does not seem to move) that sounded like somebody was walking on stone.
You can see the dragon in the original video too :biggrin.gif:, just a very thin white line though.
This may happen with everyone but an Enderman randomly spawns in my house every so often. It's well lit AND under water so I have no clue how its getting in.
derp?
herping derp the derping herp?
have you read any of the pages since 1.9 pre 3 came out?
plus, not a bug forum.

Ok thanks for the information. I looked back and found I gave up looking one page to early for the answer.
