Yes, it's extremely minor, but I like the block motif on the non-beta forums.
The "random green thing in the sky" and protruding ads kind of...mess up...the background of a Minecraft cross-section, and while it's really quite minor, the title bars just don't look...quite right. I don't know, it's probably me revolting against something new, but this is ever so slightly too...Monotone, or something. I'm struggling to find words, but something just feels weird about the new aesthetic against the background. If the background was different, maybe, but I don't like the combination of the new forum interface style with the same background.
As a plus, I do like the new link blocks to YT/Facebook/Twitter.
On a somewhat related issue, I feel like things could use a few extra line breaks-You end your post, and then there's a horizontal rule immediately below, and then there's your signature. And then there's someone else's post immediately after that.
Too much information at too fast a speed, in my opinion.
