First I have to say the new forums looks really nice! I really like the new layoutand the added features, and I think the change will be great!
One thing I noticed right away while browsing the different topics was that the "hot, "cold" and "killed" icons were gone. In the current forums , next to each thread title there is a symbol of a lava bucket, a water bucket and sort of "blood" which represents the above meanings(Im sure all of you know what I mean). I really like this feature, and altough you can see more clearly now the views and comments, the icons can give you an idea if the topic is ongoing, relevant but without active discussion or not relevant at all in one glance. For me, that is the first thing I look at when I browse topics, and it helps me out sorting the things I want to look at. I hope im not talking only about myself here, but I still waned to point it out.
The icons in the current forum are "read" (water/lava) "unread" (empty) and occasionally "locked" (redstone) or moved (minecart)
The lava bucket was a bit redundant, as there was a [HOT] badge on the same posts. Badge as in a separate icon that only appears as-needed. I like how that works, but it might be a little odd trying to represent different statuses in buckets, and the administration might not want to rely on using too many Minecraft textures (as they are Mojang's IP).
I think this should be brought back here (or maybe it is, but no way to tell yet), plus adding "new" and "old" as possible badges.
New would be a thread created in the past week, particularly if it doesn't get many replies.
Old would be for topics that haven't been editor or replied to in quite a while, this would be nice if paired with something to warn people that necroposting (posting on an old topic when you shouldn't, or when you should be making your own thread) to hopefully prevent that.
If you represented these as buckets: Old topics could be a bucket of bones, or a rusty bucket. New topics, I'm not sure.

Thats a great Idea. I didn't say the buckets werenecessary, it is just how I am used to see it on the forums, and becasue there are mojang's IP I can completly understand why they changed it. A small badge saying [HOT] can work just aswell, just to give an indication of good topics(especially on forums that have tons of topics which some of them are kind of dumb, like in survival)
