I think that a new forum design would be a nice change for MCF. However, there are many things that I'd like to complain about, and many more things that I just absolutely LOVE.
First off, let's start off with the complaints.
For one thing: Stark white. Let me be clear with this; I hate the stark white color used in the new forum. My eyes feel like they are burning. I think that it's really nice that white contrasts with so many other colors and it lets even the smallest of things on MCF stand out, but it just burns my eyes. My proposed solution to this is to bring back the pale blue. The pale blue is a very comforting, cozy, and warm color as opposed to the dead, plain, eye burning white.
Next: The icon to the left of the thread, whatever it's called - it just doesn't really fit in. I just don't think it fits in very well with the theme of this forum. The old icons were a lot better, and kept with the theme of "Minecraft." So, how do you get the old feel of the icons of the old forum? You bring them with you to the new forums.
Lastly: Optimization. This has always been a problem with MCF. Why does it take a simple page 20 seconds to load when it feels like it should take only 5? I'm not a tech genius, but I think that the code behind the scenes should be simplified so that we can retain this new design and still be able to have older systems be able to comfortably use the new forum, as well as those with newer systems.
Now, onto what I absolutely love about this new forum.
First of all, as I am typing this thread, I notice that when you hit enter, it skips a line for you instead of going to the next line. I just absolutely love this feature. I no longer have to hit enter twice, because now only one will do the job. Simply marvelous.
Also, as I am typing this thread, I notice the new options. "Insert Minecraft World" "Insert Minecraft Mod" "Insert Minecraft Texture Pack." One word: AWESOME. This will make it so much easier for texture artists, modders, and adventure map creators to advertise their creations on the MCF with ease.
I also notice the new "Upload an Image" thing, and that it no longer requires imgur or a related service. This really makes using the forum very user friendly and easy to use. Kudos!
The ability to choose your member title is great! I love it! MCF is becoming very user customizable, and I love the direction that they're heading. Users and their profiles are a lot easier to customize and they are also very customizable.
Another thing I love is the ability to see if someone is online just by looking at their profile picture. It is my absolute favorite new feature. I feel that it will really help keep threads flowing and active by knowing who is available to participate in it by checking if they're online.
Kudos to the team at MCF!

Sire I inquire as I do with most, but do you mean to gloat? For is it truly such a tire to reply to the host with but a simple QUOTE?

As long as this is fixed/improved, as well as the bug where your thread loses formatting when you edit it gets fixed, I'll be happy. Also, as you mentioned above, the white does burn into your eyes, especially at night. I would recommend more of a light greyish color, or the old light blueish color.
Thank you for the feedback, we greatly appreciate it! With regards to your questions:
1, 2. The colours and icons are being worked on by the design team, the old icons will be returning (with a bit of a touch up).
3. The site should be very fast, it's much faster for me than the live version of MCF, pages load in 2 seconds at the most! Where in the world are you located? I've seen some reports of slowness from places like the Philippines, but that may just be related to the beta being on a reduced number of servers. If you can provide more info on where you're browsing from (location, browser, operating system, internet speed) I can speak with the dev team for you.
Once again thank you for the feedback! Very much appreciated
