Hello, When I first made a post in this beta forum, I was spammed with notifications and it brought me to my profile page, when I went to the main part of my profile page, http://beta.minecraftforum.net/members/Ejection, I noticed that some things were missing from the current minecraft forums, explained in this screenshot:

There's no concept of friends any more, nor are visitors to profiles tracked and as Hazali mentioned we use thanks now and that is available at the top right. The profile information is all included, but at the moment we don't have it all enabled, it will be enabled (location, Minecraft etc.). Thanks for the feedback!
