Seems a bit silly to me, shouldn't people that were once "friends" be considered to the public as "followers", rather than just people you subscribe to notifications for? I can see this getting pretty spammy in the future as well (when you have 200+ people who have "friended" you).

This was unintentional, a mistake during the beta import, won't happen on the live site :-)
