On the IPB version of MCF you could link to a topic using only the ID followed by a dash, e.g. example.com/topic/123456- and it would take you to the correct topic. However, that does not work on this version, it would be nice if it did.

The URLs do actually support this, but it's a bit more involved that on IPB.

beta.minecraftforum.net/forums/beta/forum-beta-feedback/2071998-allow-for-shorter-urls

The bold part of that URL is not needed, the following will work:

http://beta.minecraftforum.net/forums/go/2071998

As long as you includesomething for the section (doesn't need to exist) it will work. Simple pattern matching.

Oh I see, it doesn't pattern match the dash on the end.
