I had a couple videos in my Colourful Portals Mod topic, and they were working fine. Two days ago, I changed the download link to use the new built-in curse.com mod tags, and I just realized that half the post (specifically the screenshots, videos, and crafting recipes, which stinks because I'm having trouble finding them again) simply disappeared!
Today I was starting to add them back in, and I noticed that whenever I put in the media tags for the video, as soon as I hit the undo button, the same part of the post gets deleted. This is exactly how I have it:
Hi Everyone! =)
I made a little mod that lets you build portals that lead from anywhere to anywhere (even between dimensions).
It's a good alternative to command blocks, and my reasoning was if you have a lot of dimensions added by mods (like the Aether, Twilight Forest, etc.), you can travel between them easier.
How it works:
To create a portal, use wool, stained clay, or stained glass to make a solid frame any shape and size up to 16 blocks from where you will place the colourful water (which creates the portal, recipes are below). To successfully create a portal, 3 things must be true:
-There must be 2 air blocks above the block where you place the colourful water.
-The colourful water must be placed on a portal frame block, even if the frame is horizontal.
-There must be a connected frame, along a single direction (vertically in the x or z direction, or horizontally, so yes you can make ground portals) at most 16 (can be changed in config) blocks away from where you create the portal.
*Example of a valid frame: *Example of an invalid frame:
You will always travel to the point where you created the portal. That means the place where you put the colourful water.
The portals will link together based on colour and material, and you will travel to the next one in the order of creation. That means if you create a blue wool portal in your house, another blue wool portal in your mine, and another in the Nether, you will travel from one to another in the order of house -> mine -> nether -> house -> mine, ect.

Tested and Works With:
I've tested this with countless mods, and everything I've tested it with so far has worked perfectly.
So I'll only list mods here that have particular things to be mentioned:
Red means that I haven't been able to test it with the current version (most likely because the mod wasn't updated when I ran the tests).
-Aether II - Note that it won't let you enter dungeons using the colourful portals. -Twilight Forest - On an interesting note, you can create the Twilight Forest portal using colourful water instead of water. -Mystcraft - Adds a Colourful Water Block page. Be careful, the Colourful Water will add instability. -Dimensional Doors - The random dimension destinations CAN take you to Limbo, where the portal blocks slowly disappear, destroying the portal. I would suggest adding limbo's dimension ID to the "Random Destination Blacklist". -Mo' Creatures - Same as above with the Wyvern Dimension. It's mostly empty like the End, so your portal spawns floating above the void. I'd also add it's dimension ID to the "Random Destination Blacklist". -Buildcraft - The colourful water can be piped and added to tanks. Same goes for other mods that have pipes and tanks. -Galacticraft - The portals that have a random dimension destination don't seem to generate on a planet before the planet is visited once. At least it seemed that way while testing, so I may have been really unlucky. -Minecraft Comes Alive - It crashed once while testing, but I couldn't reproduce the problem (I tried really hard), so the crash may have been a fluke or MCA's fault (I've had it crash when it was the only mod installed). -Not Enough Items - If you spawn in a colourful portal block by itself (with no frame of wool or clay), the block will always teleport you back to itself). -CandyCraft - Note entities will not correctly travel between dimensions. It's on their end, so hopefully they'll fix it. -Random Things - The colourful water can be placed on the "fluid display" blocks. However, the flowing version looks glitchy. If anyone knows of a Forge/Modloader mod this may not be compatible with, please tell me so I can check it out.
Known Issues:
- If you create a random destination, and it spawns in a jungle, there is a very rare chance that when the trees generate, the leaves can replace the portal blocks. A similar thing can happen underground with a mineshaft. - If this happens, and the bottom portal blocks get replaced with air or other blocks (right above the bottom of the frame), you'll have to re-create the portal since it's invalid.
-The "portal" texture on the stained glass single-block portals looks a little broken, but it can't be helped because both parts are transparent and need to be rendered at the same time.
Download and Installation:
For 1.6.x/1.7.x, Requires Forge Download the zipped (or jar) file here:
Installation:
Install Forge for the Minecraft version you are downloading for (right now either 1.6.2, 1.6.4, or 1.7.2, and forge version likely doesn't matter). A good set of instructions is here: http://www.minecraft...ation/Universal.
Download the Colourful Portals Mod from the link above.
Go to your .minecraft folder (if you don't know how to get there, this wiki article has a simple description: http://www.minecraft...wiki/.minecraft)and place the zipped file you downloaded into the "mods" folder. If there is no mods folder, run minecraft with forge installed. It will generate the mods folder.
Note that if you are using a different directory, use the mods folder in your custom directory.
Run Minecraft.
Have fun with portals.

This only happens if the media tags are present, and it wasn't doing this before I added the mod tags.
Edit; Oh, wait, the media tags don't seem to be working. They were before. =/
What is the youtube embed tag? I don't see anything different from before. =/
For operating system and browser, I have Windows 8.1, and am using Google Chrome.
Edit: Okay, weird things seem to be going on for me. Now I just see a blank white space where I put those tags up above.
Edit 2: Okay, now I see the video...
