The Door is opened by a button up a staircase just before that part. Umm... the button on the map 'turns the power on to the rest of the lab' and isn't connected to the door. As the door is opened when lava flows down tubes and hits a gravel block at the bottom of the containing bowl.
I guess the lava was so slow that I didn't see anything change after hitting the upper button and while I messed with the other one the lava reached the door and it seemed as I had opened it.
Ah, not a big mistake. I do wish the lava was just a bit quicker, as it is very slow down a 1 wide pipe.
You should do so that the water pipe opens up a door to the exit tunnel so you can only leave after activating the water flow.
I am thinking of doing something like that.
Actually I will. I'll be making the Edited version in the next few days. Which will fix that problem only, unless I can think of another problem that I can solve easily.
I might make a sequel sometime after that, which will only be loosely connected with this.
I'm also working on a new interactive level. In that one I'm trying to solve the problem of having no real direction to go and just push every button you see.
For things that you can't see make windows so people can see what's happening and that should fix up the problem or at least mean people can see what the buttons do. I thought of that, today.
I beat the level on the first try, using no hacks. I did have to press enter to set a new spawn point at the air section so when I fell I wouldn't have to start the air section all over again.
Far beyond any other interactive level. Really easy to understand in terms of where to go and all that. Once dungeon mode comes around, you should make some awesome dungeons!
Just came back to say grats on the blog mention, and I can't phrase it better than what UncleBibby said:

I'm wondering, what's the secret room? I activated that one room in the second sector, but is the secret room just the teleporter in the place under the lava?
Great level! I messed up a few times though. The first big problem I had was not waiting for the chunk updates to finish in the lava part.
Another time I accidentally flooded the entire level because I hit one switch out of order.
Then the last time I flooded the level again because I accidentally placed a block inside the little water elevators in the valve tower...
I can't imagine how long it took you to make this. O.O
This is excellent - very creative and detailed environment!
I also got stuck in the power level. I exited early and noticed the lack of lava. I went back in, deleted another iron block and went out again - still no lava. I re-entered a third time and smashed all the glass surrounding the lava and water, and watched them fight it out. :smile.gif:
This is a fantastic level! It is the first level that I have actually wanted to play all the way through, and I can assure you that it was worth it! You did a really great job at letting the tension mount towards the, with the puzzles getting harder, and I was very happy to finish. Great work, and keep it up! :wink.gif:

The secret sector is the entire place under the Starting Teleporter.

So I've sealed off the bomb. Is that the end? I see a walkway, but I can't reach it.
You must get to the walk way, you can do it without cheating... but you must use your brain. You know, the thing in between you ears.
Because of problems I have made it nearly impossible to leave the 2nd sector without finishing. If it keeps being a problem I will change it, as this was just a hotfix.
I must say, I am thoroughly impressed with this map! I had no idea that Omen's tricks could be used in this way. (To be honest, I got lucky at the valve station in the water sector - I started to leave after opening all three blocks and seeing nothing, but then got back inside after the center collapsed, before the entrance sealed itself.)
I am quite tempted to take this map to the next level. The main thing that is missing here is music and sound effects :biggrin.gif: I would love to see what I could do in that regard, if only as a video playthrough of the map.
Also, with this new map, if it is to have a similar climax moment such as diffusing the bomb, might I suggest adding a secondary trigger, such as a load-bearing plot device? Diffuse the bomb, but at the cost of causing the area to collapse - now the player must reach safety before the lair floods with lava! Etc.
Took me a week or so have hard effort, spread over a few weeks.

I could see this working well if you had to make blocks as well, like dropping gravel down holes or making sponges.
