"I don't actually have a name." The Masked Krusader told the former High Commandant. "So you were the high commandant? I guess I was trying to assassinate you at one point, but I'd never seen you before."

The sun warmed the skin of his face and arms, and slowly, the inferno of pain subsided to a dull, throbbing body-sore. squinting against the sun, Gage opened his eyes slowly, looking up into a clear, bright blue sky. It must never rain here...Gage thought, struggling to push himself up onto an elbow.
Filly smiled, relieved. Well, kind of. After all, now this started a whole new problem- Talking was bad, because talking was awkward. "Um! Hi! A-are you okay, Sir?" She asked, tilting her head as she fumbled with a lock of her hair. "Because, well, it looked like you took a really hard fall, and your clothes were all ripped, so... Well, yeah." The girl exclaimed, all in one breath. "E-er... Well... Um... Okay then, yeah..." She muttered, drawing a smiley face in the soft dirt. "I'm sorry if your sore. There wasn't much I could do to help... B-by the way, Sir, do you know where we are?" Most of her conversations tended to start out as a flood of panicky, stammered questions. But this situation really did take the cake.
((Well then, can't refuse that opportunity. Rawr, attack of many useless questions. xD))
Gage could tell the girl was nervous, and she also didn't know what or where she was. A Warper thing-person? he asked himself in thought. "Uh...I'm Gage...and don't call me sir....we're like...the same age. I can't really tell you where you are...but I can tell you you aren't gonna find your home here." Gage winced at being gruff with the girl who had probably save his life from drowning. "Uh....What about you? What's your name? Where're you from?" He asked in a lighter, friendlier tone. The girl looked extremely nervous and scared. That's probably what I looked like before Mask found me...he thought. "Maybe I can help you get somewhere safe?" Gage said, trying to sound comforting remembering what Mask had said about there being a good and a bad faction. Besides, Why leave this girl out here alone when she was unarmed, unprotected, out of her wits and kinda cute?
"I'm sorry. Sir is the only thing I could think of that isn't disrespectful..." Filly explained, blushing at her silliness. The gruffness really didn't bother her, she was used to it. "My name's Filly. Um, well.. You've probably never heard of it I guess if you're from this place, but I'm from Colorado..." She trailed off, thinking. Her eyes widened, and she tilted her head. "Wait, whaddoo you mean 'somewhere safe?' Is this place not safe?" She asked, trying to keep the panic out of her voice. "Are there badgers and cougars here, or what? I know how to deal with them..." Of course, she'd only learned how because her dad was a forest ranger. Otherwise she'd be doomed when she got sent out on patrols to unset non-certified traps.
((Edit: Holy crap it's almost one here. Last post, I guess. Stupid school.))
(Oh, DANG! That's a big update! It really gives Ci'diuna more depth. So Renaus is the only surviving Aetherian? Oh, and would the Graundul have outposts in the Aether? {freaking autocomplete!})
"I don't have a REAL name but you can call me Mask, short for Masked Krusader. He turned to the young man who just caught up to them. So what's your story, Matthew?"

All of a sudden a portal opened just above crain. "what the fuuuuccc.." that was all that was heard as the portal sucked crain and his pet spider to the.... nether!!. before anyone could react the portal closed and dissipated. with a thud he landed on a strange looking rock. "well spider it looks like we are going to have to find another portal." "shshshhhsgsfg" the spider replied. they set out walking. they soon realized how different this world was. lava poured down and incinerated multiple things in the distance. all crain thought was that he was dead and had went to hell.
(Btw Larkus, did you get your Sig and the idea for the Aetherians from my Sig?)
(The Sig, yes, the idea.... partly.)
(RP time!)
"Indeed I was, and good thing for you never did, because you would've failed." Larkus replied. He saw yet another man was approaching. "Another one of you wizened up? Good, because the more people we have, the less chance this wont work. Now I'd say we have a pretty good chance. You, who are you? What is your name?"
They were nearing the vault, and would likely reach it in another "day"'s time.
Meanwhile.....
Steve could barely contain his excitement. A new warper, still clueless, and the other, nearly dead. It would be too easy. He got up, and strode out of the scrying chamber. He recalled seeing Larkus heading for the downed ship, with two of the other adventurers that had somehow managed to escape his hordes. Larkus's fault, probably....
Steve entered into the Portal, and it appeared as if nothing had changed. Same stone hallways, same paintings, same low lighting,same... explosions? Out the windows Steve saw the ever-present ghast swarm that hovered over the camp. Some idiot guard was trying to shoot one down, and succeeding only in nearly getting his arm blown off. Not that it mattered to him. He approached a table where several fresh commandants were drinking and gambling. "You three, which of you wants to gain some respect?"
The cadets were obviously drunk. Too drunk to remember that Steve was, in fact, the High Commandant, and they were fresh recruits. Cannon fodder. "Pissh off, an let us enjoy ouer rumsss and owur cardss." One of the commandants yelled, slurring his speech. Steve snapped his neck. One, jolted out of his alcohol fog, got up and ran. Steve impaled him through the back. The last man stayed calm, and simply replied "I'll do it, sh-I mean sir." Trying to hide that he was probably just as drunk as the others. But he tried. Steve liked that. " I need you to take your men, and take care of a small distraction for me......"
(Yes, I'm evil, that's my job. Good luck, Gage, you're running out of time to either move, or teach your new-found friend how to fight. Just be glad I'm sending a generic guy that you can just pick off pretty easily. Mwuahahahhaha!
"After seeing you in action, I have no doubt that if I had succeeded in getting to you I would have failed." the Masked Krusader said to Larkus. He turned. "Is anyone else coming?"

Gage watched Filly, wishing he could take the words back. Fear was clear in her eyes, but that didn't mean they were any safer. That guy the commandant was fighting was freaky, and he didn't really want to fight him. "I'm from Michigan so I know Colorado. And I wish there were regular animals here. There is only pigs, chickens, sheep and cows....but at night...." Gage trailed off, not wanting to scare the girl even more. Wincing as he pushed himself to his feet, a glint near the edge of the water caught Gage's eye. His sword lay a few inches under the cool water on the rock bed.
He walked over, scooped the sword up by the hilt(admiring the forgery) and walked back to Filly. "We have to get moving." He said, squinting against the sun as he looked up at the small opening in the relatively flat mountain side where the water had pushed though, gushing and creating the natural pond at the base of the mountain. The sun was already directly overhead and Gage did not want to get caught in a natural basin where the only route of escape from the night was a pretty steep climb.
"I'm glad you understand." Larkus said moments before the cultist-looking man popped out of the brush. "What are you doing here? No matter, just come on, and while you're at it, what is your name?
From the top, the airship looked like any wreck-some casualty of a Grandul raiding party, perhaps. However, that was only the tip of the iceberg. Larkus walked over to an old iron door inside the wreck, and knocked on the door in a pattern. The door opened, revealing a ladder downwards. "Come on down." Larkus beckoned as he slid down the short ladder into the hull of the airship.
The ship had crashed on the shore, so half was underwater, and leaks were common, though more of a blessing than curse, as they added to the likelihood that the decks were simply flooded. They were not. Instead, upon entering the room, they group was greeted by a surprisingly small, tidy, and empty room. The room was actually quite large, as half the room was taken up by crates holding Aetherian technology. The rest of the furniture of the room consisted of a bed, a small chest which Larkus used for the few personal items he owned, a pair of paintings and a small rug, the latter of two Larkus only added so it wouldn't seem so awful a place to spend a night occasionally.
"Alright, you three dig in. Take any Aetherian weapons, armor, or tools you want. I have most of what I need." With that, he walked over to the small personal chest, and opened it. As usual it was empty except for a picture, a timepiece, and a hydraulic-or hydro, pistol. The weapon was an impressive piece of technology, that fired flint rounds. However, it require to be heated before use, only held three shots, and reloading was a painstaking process. Larkus took the three items from the chest, and opened several of the larger boxes, spilling their contents onto the floor.
He took from the boxes some flint rounds, and several force tools: steel-hilted tools made of crystal constructs that, upon having energy projected onto them, made them about as strong as diamond tools that the people of this land sometimes used.
Finally, he turned to a small steel box filled with redstone wiring and several strange apparatus, which were used to repair steel armor. He took a few pieces of wiring and one of the repair devices and went to work repairing his mask.
(P.S. Gage maybe change the Lore so King Whogivesadamn isn't the only Aetherian, maybe something like the only known Aetherian, or only pure-blood Aetherian. :tongue.gif:)

"Michigan, huh? Cool." Filly said with a small smile, wondering what might be wrong with the night-time. Alluding that there was something bad at night left a lot of room for her imagination to fill. I guess I'll figure it out eventually... She thought with a sigh as she looked up to where the small opening was. It took Filly a few seconds to see it, since the sun was so freaking bright, but that was probably where they were headed. "Umm... That looks like a tough climb. Is that where you fell from?" She asked with a tilt of her head. Back home, he might've died. Dang... This place has really weird physics. But the mini piece of tree is so cute! Wait a second- Was he carrying around a sword? The girl couldn't help but stare thoughtfully. So maybe the things at night can only be killed with swords? Hm... That didn't narrow it down much. A lot of stuff could be killed with swords.
I was there. It took me a little while, and somehow Archie got there first, but I gave him a glance. I bite into a cookie I had to eat when I got there.
"So this is the Vault?" he asked Larkus. "I've been trying to find the aetherians for years, but I've just found these crash sites, mostly stripped, too." He looked it over. "This one is more intact than the others I've found, too." He turned to see someone else there eating a cookie. "Another one with us. This band is rapidly expanding."

"Well... Another one. Heh. So mask-guy, or was your name Larkus? Well, I want to talk to you... About that... It was just a guess. So I want to see if I was right. Funny, not many people would want to live in an aetherian airship."
At this point I "let slip" My Seyeker and pick it back up with a wink.
